Anyone else notice how much Ben is running is shilling puresport even more than ever? Every other insta post is a promotion or link to some product. Relentless!!

Being a running youtuber must be a weird existence - it can't last forever. What do these guys think they'll be doing in 10 years for a career? What about a pension? I'm sure they make decent money for now - but that will dry up then what?

I think Ben Parkes will be a good test. He seems to be physically drained and how long he can keep going will be interesting.
"You go then. Don't tell us too..." Proper response from "the buoys.." "here's my boomshakawanka express train...." What a complete w*****
I saw that too and it was fairly amusing. Bester was encouraging that guy and he was literally gasping for air trying to cling on to Nick.
‘Don’t tell me what to do, I don’t want to run fast but I totally could. Just shut up, I’m not even trying so whatever’
It had that sort of vibe.
Was so lovely to see Nick lead his boomshakala train and drag all these runners to probably their PBS.
Nick probably cost himself a sub 29 in the process of helping those other guys out but he’s a selfless guy who cares more about helping others. He just loves the sport and is a top, top coach. He has some fantastic running coach qualifications and his Best Athletics club is going from strength to strength and doing some great things. It’s saving so many lives

I guess they think they'll go into coaching maybe? It's probably only a select few who are making any kind of money. They'll get freebies but in terms of getting paid I can't see Benisrunning getting much and surprised if he doesnt get a real job
he was in Kentucky with the life in stride boys this past week (they’re great, I got no issues with them)
So he did Chicago-> New York -> indy -> kentucky? Dude needs to go home and be a family man
and the over the top posts about his wife are sad and obvious ploy to make it seem likes he’s a big family man. If things are that great with your wife, you wouldn’t need to incessantly post about it
The funniest bit in this whole thread is when people pretend to care about the youtubers' families.
no, I think it’s actually pretty strange and disgusting when folks were calling dibs on his wife
But on the flip side , him posting his text messages from his wife before his race? “I love you so much it hurts”. Yeah it’s all performative and it’s using your family to push a story.
Sean Tobin an Irish 13:32 guy has good videos. Ryan Thomson a uk club runner, Adam fogg. athletics Ireland have one recently with Jack o Leary and some of his ?team in font at a training camp.

“I love you so much it hurts” is one of the cringiest things he’s ever posted, which is saying a lot for Floberg. That’s like 2004 MySpace emo sh-t.

BP definitely seems to be drained. But don't worry, he has already entered five marathons (Mumbai, Seville, Boston, London and Chicago) for 2026.
He's probably semi broken at the moment based on weekly mileage in the build for Valencia:
Oct 27 - Nov 2 = 76 miles (good)
Nov 3 - 9 = 41 miles (massive drop)
Nov 10 - 16 = 55 miles (OK, but less than his October weeks & not ideal for build towards Valencia)
His "big Valencia session" on Friday Nov. 14 was four sets of 8 minutes, so 32 minutes / 5½ miles of work. Bro should be doing that in one go at the end of a long run in preparation for Valencia marathon. And this was followed by one run over the weekend that was just over 9 miles.
Speaking of "Burned out runtubers", Mr. Special himself Spencer Brown has declared hes going to train to break 14 after running a 15:50 time trial at altitude (15:15 converted).
I wish the dude the best but hard to be excited given how many times he has set lofty time goals only to not come close
The music he uses on his videos is banging. Such a vibe. Like some crazy techno beat.
Would love for him to team up with a big name British coach to take him to the next level but also make his YouTube channel even more interesting. Ideally Sir Mo Farah but Seb Coe, Ovett, Radcliffe or Cram would be cool too.

I don't really get the point; this time will be stretching and risky to get. If he does sneak under, it won't even qualify him for nationals. I remember reading a post a while ago on here, saying running a sub 15:00 5k is practically pointless, unless you can get there in low milage.
Been enjoying Phil Sesemann’s stuff I have to say. Guy is just a no thrills grafter and think the runfluencers could learn a thing or two from his attitude - watch his post London 25 interview. Probably the only person who didn’t blame his blow up on the heat, just “wasn’t fit enough”. Was the same after a mediocre Brasov 10k recently.
90% of the time people blow up, it’s because they go off too fast but 90% of the time, the excuse is something else.
I saw sirpoc at a Tesco in London yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen pints in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each cam and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
Then Bester came along and everybody was in a awe what a humble person they are.
I've always particularly enjoyed his videos where we get an insight into these Japanese clubs. It's quite unique to his channel and another (positive) reason his content stands apart from other running YT'ers.
2.5 weeks out from Valencia though - I'm interested to see his approach to these last couple of weeks before race day.
Russell Bentley (who still refuses to wear supershoes for races, he blogged about it ages ago) isn't on Youtube, but he posts plenty of good stuff on his Instagram. Here he is taking aim at Runna and their idea of what is good running form:
Another interesting recent arrival on the Youtube scene is Ryan McLeod, channel called "faster forties" I think. He was British half marathon champ about 10 years ago, heart problems forced him to stop running but he's on the comeback, he's lined up to do London and Chicago marathon next year but sidelined with an injury for a week or so at the moment.
