Fair play to him for his performance today. He seems like he’s definitely in sub 2:20 shape, potentially in the 2:18 range if his endurance can hold up. I think he’s very likely to at least PB
As a massive Bester fan, I really hope so. It’s been tough watching our main rival Matt Fox hold the upper hand in the marathon PB battle this last year or so and I’d give anything for Nick to regain the crown in Valencia
Think you have to disqualify Fox and his times really so Bester is already the winner. A cheeky lil victory lap at Valencia would be the icing on the cake for him I’m sure though
He obviously has potential to be a good ultra runner but a win is a bit optimistic. Top 10 might be possible. The reality is marathon times aren't a great indicator when you approach 100k distance - it's much more about running economy and durability and people who run marathons in mid/low 2:20s can beat 2:10 marathon runners over comrades distance.
I ran Comrades this year and the event was amazing,got a picture with Tete at the champions breakfast and the guy is tiny,must be less than 7st,or 98lbs for the yanks.Incredible runner.

I can’t imagine there being any literary competition. Judging by Bester’s captions on his videos, he does not appear to be the most literate.
Also, perhaps it’s just me, but he does not articulate interesting ideas around training. Rather, he seems to have amazing resiliency and recovery (possibly chemically assisted) and consistently runs/races fast. None of this relates to the masses.

Really enjoyed the sit down video between Jimmy, FOD runner and SirPoc (seem like 3 lovely guys) but a bit disappointed neither Andy or Jim asked SirPoc about his fledgling but fierce rivalry with Mr Bester. He must be chomping at the bit to try and get on even terms with Nick after the recent defeat.
Next time maybe get Nick involved in the chat too! That would be a great quartet

Felton apparently has a hip-flexor strain and has decided the best way to let it recover is to do 1-2x cycles/day. Sounds like the perfect cure for an overuse injury.
Yes definitely has potential but wings for life and comrades are completely different in terms of depth of competition. Wings for life isn't on most serious ultra runner's radar

So he did Chicago-> New York -> indy -> kentucky? Dude needs to go home and be a family man
and the over the top posts about his wife are sad and obvious ploy to make it seem likes he’s a big family man. If things are that great with your wife, you wouldn’t need to incessantly post about it
