There will be no Iran boost. Only true Trump fanboys are rallying around him and trying to claim those who oppose Trump are traitors and support terrorists.

There will be no boost because trump has no credibility and most people don't trust his judgement. This move will be the end of trump. If this escalates trump will take the fall.

This was a poorly thought out act of war and we have basically no international support for it.

Folks this was just a matter of time before drunk uncle screwed our country very badly.

The stench from the Iraq war fiasco is still strong. This issue, more than any other, will anger people and will be trumps downfall. I have no doubt about this.

Yikes. You ain't kiddin'--the 1/7/20 compilation is now up, and DJT took a major hit. So far, at least, the only "Iran boost" is a higher Disapproval percentage.

PS--I realize you were speaking in metaphor, but President Trump doesn't drink. Neither does Nancy Pelosi. (Neither do I.)

PPS--I can't follow this thread religiously and miss some posts. I'm pretty sure someone mentioned the study that showed Americans are paying essentially 100% of the tariffs--but did anyone mention that the manufacturing sector has now contracted for five straight months?

No he did not. We killed the second in command who has been responsible for many American deaths, unprovoked. Iran is a rogue regime and the worst terrorist nation in the world. You guys should take a moment to realize the seriousness of these escalations... it’s not a beat your chest fvck yeah moment at all, even if we were devastating them. People get deployed and never come back. Many come back physically and mentally torn up. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis civilians have been murdered - a number that far exceeds Sadam’s brutality. And you can amplify that number when you consider the repercussions in the broader region from our invasion. It’s easy to focus on that big bad dude and ignore the alternatives. These conflicts are usually not necessary and driven by poor and reckless leadership. We are very lucky not to share the history of some of these countries, and it doesn’t have to do with us being better than them. We don’t have generations born into war in the homeland, the US really hasn’t seen $hit besides the civil war. We can’t win when it comes to sectarian violence, it’s a pipe dream for foolish nationalist - they are the eternal experts in that game. I hope trump doesn’t feel like playing roulette again with our security and I guarantee you if he or family members had served he would be a better leader. He’s pure weakness and frailty.

Hopefully Iran did their strike resulting in no casualties to save face and now we can have a cooling off period. No one truly wins in war.

We saw the effect Soleimani's killing had on millions of Iranians. We have entered the rabbit hole of hate and violence. This line of war escalation will accomplish NOTHING and risks so much.

This is no time to puff out one's chest and call out those against unnecessary war acts as being a pansy. We heard all this same nonsense before the tragic Iraq war. Some people just don't learn from past mistakes.
