Anybody know about Sifan Hassan running back to get her bottle? Also keeps looking back at the end. Always interesting with Sifan in the marathon! Maybe if she perfect it she would be getting the world record.
It probably won't, Kiptum has now dropped sub 28 last 10ks in his last two marathons off very fast pace races. He can probably go under 27:30 or faster in the jogfest Olympic marathon. I've never seen anyone be able to finish like him before, Kipchoge included.
When she said in the last 5K she was thinking she should never run a marathon again. I love the honesty and laughed out loud.
Yes! So relatable. She's so unbelievably talented and a workhorse, crushing everything in sight but still goes through the same emotions as the lay folk. She also said "once you cross the line you want to run it again."
i didn't see the interview with him. there are plenty of high level kenyans who have been interviewed in english during recent years. does kiptum speak better english than them, or is it similar?
if he is better than the others, it is noteworthy. if he isn't, why are we discussing it.
Because some idiot said that Kenyans can't even give "semi-coherent" interviews.
Rupp is a very likable person. He's victim of what your mother warned you about -- "be careful, you will be judged by the people whom you associate with."
Matt Choi is picking it up! 2:29:23 for 35K, on pace for 3:00:06! Sweat glistening off his bare chest, baseball cap on backwards, five drones flying overhead - it is a sight to behold! He has a chance to run faster than Caitlynmiller_fit ran at Boston!

Finding Rupp to be insufferable has never had anything to do with who he associated with for me

No, that's doubtful. But she said in the interview that they maybe went out too quick. Clearly with a smoother race, and pacing for 2:12:30 she probably had a bit more on the day. Sub 2:13?

i think in the past, he is likeable to those who know him, but very closed to the general public. people who are closed off are judged harshly for their personality.

Dude is like Bekele moving up to the marathon in his prime.
