And he thinks Trump will do it. Think of his term as president: Lots of golf, didn't deliver on the Wall, didn't deliver on Mexico paying for the part of the wall he built, didn't deliver on a replacement for the Affordable Care Act, didn't deliver on all the supposed deals with Saudi Arabia (except for the sweetheart deal for his son in law), and repeatedly failed to understand that his tariffs weren't being paid by the foreign countries he claimed were paying them. Yet the minions believe his populist schtick.
More like the military industrial complex. If you read the indictment, what he is going over with the interviewer is an attack plan for Iran. He wanted it to be known in the book that he was writing was the general wanted him to attack Iran after they attacked some of our assets, but he refused to do so. He would have been justified in doing so, but chose not to. What the left is vilifying is Trump’s pacifism. During the 2020 election, a bunch of former generals threw their support behind Biden, not because they thought he was best for this country, but because they could control him and goad him into a conflict where they could sell arms. And in Ukraine, they got their wish. There is a lot of money in arms sales. In Ukraine, we get to supply the bullets and the bandaids. Eisenhower warned us of it on his way out of office, but few took him seriously.
Weirdo logic
A bit simplistic, but really not so weird at all.
As I said in an earlier post, American Presidents have been given bi-partisan carte blanche by to commit war crimes (including illegal wars) and other human rights violations for at least 70 years now. The US political establishment has agreed never to hold outgoing Presidential administrations accountable for even the most egregious violations of the rights of foreigners. And none of what the US does, or has contemplated is at all "secret" (apart from the details) to any of its enemies, or to its closest allies. As with Snowden and other whistle-blowers, anything that might be revealed in these docs is already priced in by other national security agencies around the world. US secrecy laws pertain to domestic knowledge of US activities abroad. Remember, in the US "national security" means "imperial prerogative" and rarely actual threats to actual homeland of the US. Threatening to reveal these secrets to the American public is the third rail Trump has stepped on in attempting to retain these docs. This is why only the lunatic fridge in the GOP defends Trump with any vehemence; the establishment knows he has to go, and secretly hope this indictment will help do the trick.
Trump is no genius, and is clearly unstable, but he knows there's an advantage in being able to tell the American people the truth about US imperial machinations and other potentially embarrassing behavior and speech at the highest levels of the security apparatus (his "deep state", when he himself is not in charge of it).
Trump may actually want to win the Presidency again; but, no matter what happens. he absolutely wants revenge on the US political establishment of BOTH parties, even if it entails precipitating national crisis after national crisis. His retention of these documents clearly represents his attempt to arm himself with potentially very destabilizing information. Remember: He's the guy who observes no norms or boundaries, and who lusts for personal power. He will almost certainly not regain executive power, but he will mark this country as very few of its leaders ever has.
LOL! I miss the good old days—late 2020–when I posted about the “deep state” (sarcastically) in reference to Trump and was promptly banned. Oh how far the LRC forums have come. Great job BroJos
Lib law of the land straight from the Commies they are:
Lavrentiy Beria, the most ruthless and longest-serving secret police chief in Joseph Stalin’s reign of terror in Russia and Eastern Europe, bragged that he could prove criminal conduct on anyone, even the innocent. “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime” was Beria’s infamous boast.
He served as deputy premier from 1941 until Stalin’s death in 1953, supervising the expansion of the gulags and other secret detention facilities for political prisoners.

Translated, “I actually - freakin’ actually - think that flaming liberal FBI agents (all 0-to-3 of them) are more of a threat than Donald Trump being the most powerful person in the world.”
Truly mind-blowing stupidity.
Translated: Today more people showed up to support Trump in Miami and Bedminster by ten fold than Joe Biden could ever get.
Think about it.
Yes, I’ll think about it. Thanks.
And you can dig deep, deep into the dusty old history books to check out the presidential election results of 2020.

i actually dig that quick dig. which you fully understand, of course, was a complete sham...which is why you so much want to eliminate the vote forever. move of a coward.
I suppose you can have your fun, but wildly speculating like this is detrimental to the core of your argument. If even a small portion of what is included in the indictment is proven to the appropriate standard in court, that is punishable under the law, and it is poor conduct (anywhere from reckless to abhorrent) for any citizen, especially a holder of, or aspirant to, high office.
Don’t overplay your hand. If there’s anyone persuadable out there, why would you shift the conversation to something that is almost certainly much harder to prove?
We are commenters on a Running message board. Nothing more. There is no overplaying our hand. If you are trying to make the case that remaining Trump supporters can have their minds changed through facts and reason that has been disproven many times.
Sure. You’re just commenters on a message board. That’s all I am too, or at least all you can know of me. But you attack your opponents on the basis of what you perceive to be : their overall intelligence, their knowledge of the subject, their adherence to the facts, their self-discipline in conversation based on additional circumstances related to adherence to the facts, etc. so this is basically just a game. Seems to me that if you just resort to your self-congratulatory s-posting, that’s not the same as following the rules of the game.
Having never participated in a circle j**k myself, I cannot speak to the finer points of propriety involved in one, nor can I condemn participants of one. But as an ignorant outsider, I’d say that it seems to me that you’re just telling me not to rain on your circle j**k. Well, ok. But I thought that one of the problems (not the only one, mind you) of the Trumpers has been their overweening attachment to circle-j**ks.

vs your attachments to other peoples children. I'll take it.

Your grammar matches your logic which matches your honesty which matches your susceptibility to crude, transparent cult leaders.
Bring your AR-15 or your AK to the pizzeria, hero. That’s exactly where your delusi ok ha will lead you to paradise.
I myself know Lots of Republicans; Democrats; Independents; people of whatever gender, race, religion, ethnicity, rural or urban or suburban etc. — and heck, even sprinters, distance runners, throwers, and vaulters— who are great people, whom I’d consider fellow travelers in doing the right thjng.
And for every kid I’ve tried to hel past genuine life problems, I’m almost certainly a poor spokesperson, but I’d say that your knee-jerk designation of a political party o is foolish, disrespectful, and counterproductive for those who truly care about helping people who are hurting. I’d ask: Is that who you want to be? But I’m afraid that I already know the answer.

You’re overreacting. If I recall, he guessed that Donald may have done even worse than is currently known. “Necessary” to do that? No. Crazy to imagine? No. Harmful to our ability to influence Trumper cultists? No. Because it’s impossible, and I’m one of the idiots who wastes time apparently trying. I am an expert in this form of stupidity!
You libs can continue your mental gymnastics, but Trump will be the Republican nominee. And if he wins, boy will there be some changes.
If he becomes the nominee, Republicans will lose 2024. Then we’ll have the same bs we had in Jan 2021. Dump doesn’t give a poop, he’ll throw America under the bus if his ego takes a hit (and it will)

1. He finally build a beautiful border wall and Mexico will pay for it. Just send your bill to the Mexican congress.
2. He will lock Hilary Clinton up. Nobody should handle classified information in such a reckless way. Lock her up; she belongs to the prison.
3. He will make another perfect phone call to Zelensky, and Ukraine will restart investigation on Biden family. Who else is leading the democratic side of pool?
4. He will deliver the best ever health care plan in two weeks. He is a genius, and is really good at everything.
5. He will initiate a new year gift exchange with Kim. Russia will be so scared, and the war with Ukraine will magically end in April.
6. When COVID comes back in 2025, he will be so ready for it. He will dominate the popularity contest against Elon Musk, and win in a landslide.
What else? Can he fire all federal judges and replace with all MAGAs, because the judicial system has been so ripped off?
