You’re conflating science with morality. Some people, through a predisposition to mental illness and the experience of trauma become harmful to themselves and others. That is scientific fact. However, it does not make it moral. The law does allow for mental disease or defect to be considered in cases of assault or homocide, however.

How you and I differ is that I can see a distinction between something like a person’s brain chemistry leading them to commit a crime (like bestiality) and someone running a footrace.

You, a dummy, just tried to equate the two things. That’s a dumb thing to do.

One great thing about this country of ours is that we can decide as a collective about what is acceptable. It used to be that certain people were considered 3/5ths of a person in voting ability. That was wrong, but we corrected for it.

I don’t see bestiality being accepted anytime soon. Not worried about that. But I’d reckon that the vast majority people see no dilemma with a woman running a race against other women.

Oh, this is rich. Somehow got don't believe I'm a fairy yet believe trans that claim biology doesn't exist or that they are multidimensional multibeing "transexuals" that have a hive mind. Me claiming to be a fairy compared to what I am seeing from trans is normal by comparison.

Isn’t boxing a combat sport? Are boxers really complaining about the fighting being too violent? I feel like I’m on “Punk’d” right now.

The issue in Connecticut is that the state law says you do not need to have any medical treatment to compete if you are a trans athlete. USATF, IOC, and most other sports governing bodies do have rules for how long someone has to be on hormones, etc. You can agree or disagree that a trans woman retains a physiological advantage because of being assigned male at birth, especially if she went through puberty in that body, but we're talking about two different things here. Requiring no medical intervention at all is a different story. (Unfortunately, trans kids are often in a catch-22 where their family or medical providers won't help them until they are 18).

Also, FWIW, plenty of cisgender women don't have their periods either, for various reasons. For me, it is an advantage not to have mine. But other people may feel differently.

Obviously not my point. I'm just explaining the logic (or lack thereof) used to defend the obvious contradiction of claiming that sex is non-binary while insisting that we ought to squeeze trans people into the sex binary based on self-declaration.

It’s a good point. I recently talked to a transgender athlete’s girlfriend. I was like, “would you be attracted to them if they didn’t have a penis?” The response i got wasn’t straightforward.

No. There are many trans that have publicly said that you must refer to them only in the third person and some even only in plurality with "they" and never in singular or direct. They have even done interviews where they required the reporter to do that since they believe they have multiple beings inside of them. Looks like I know a lot more about trans than you do.

So if a trans wins a race we are required to say "they won" even though we only see one person cross the line first?

The thing is, I agree with you about competition. This whole thing is a major threat to women's sports. It's an extremely serious issue.

For others here:

I'm not going to get on the "they are mentally ill" bandwagon. I don't think it has anything to do with it. I know several transgender people, and non-binary people. There is a mix of mentally ill but also stable people amongst those that I know which is no different than any other segment of the population. I find them to be way above average in intelligence and most that I have explained this issue with actually agree with me believe it or not. Those that don't agree know that I am not judging them for who they are.

Not all will agree with you but they will be less defensive if you are not attacking them for who they are.

Dismissing people as being mentally ill and therefore somehow incapable of understanding science surprisingly is not a good tactic for convincing them to agree with you.

Anyone who thinks a man or woman who wants to change their gender isn't suffering from extreme mental illness is just deluding themself.

There's such a crisis of "not wanting to offend" that people will now tolerate any destructive behavior.
