I am surprised she actually has to make the charge. The company she works for, or the police should have been the ones to pursue this from the start.

Her conscience should be completely clear in the outcome to this prosecution.

She just wants to gain fame and money from her experience. She wasn't really hurt at all. I would never go near that reporter. I'd be afraid that she would try and lure me into marriage and take my mom's house or something(when I inherit it)

He slapped her butt so his punishment should be one firm slap on the buttock.

It is fair and proportional, I’m sure if he would plead out to that penalty right now if given the choice, saving the courts tons on time.

I'm going to tape a clear piece of plastic over my butt and when they grab it then their finger prints will be on the plastic. .......

This is a crime.

All people should be treated with respect and slapping a woman's bottom does NOT qualify. It was on camera, so there is no disputing it. The Boy Scouts should publicly drop this guy like a ton of bricks. Young members of the Boy Scouts should NEVER see their leaders and role models act like this.

If there is a positive here, it is that many people will think twice before doing something similar after reading about this guy getting raked even if it offends them because they think it was no big deal.

Agreed too. Even though that poster is telling himself that he is trolling to trigger people, it still is a very sad and pathetic reflection on him to want to craft that post.

The guy shouldn't have done what he did. But as has been pointed out here, there are many males who experience the same kind of attention from women, from professional to social situations. It is very unlikely to result in a prosecution. The offender in this instance offered apology. For most kinds of inappropriate behaviour (that doesn't involve colleagues ) that should be the end of the matter. But we have reached a point now when behaviour we don't like is subject to being criminalised, even if there is no injury to the victim. The reporter may choose to think she is standing up for the rights of women, but as these incidents also routinely happen to men there is something of a double-standard that applies here, and the reporter's desire to see the offender punished conveys an exaggerated sense of victimhood, and even self-importance. She would appear a bigger person if she blew the guy off for being a jerk, accepted his apology and let him take his public humiliation.
