He does that after a lot of races he runs... Western PA cross country is no joke, there's hills here like no other region in the country. Good to see him represent nationally.

If the Footlocker West regional is at the same time as NXN again next year, Peattie and Topper probably won’t be doing Footlocker again as their team has a strong chance to not only qualify for NXN, but a good chance to win it all.
The same could be said for the Thompson twins as we may see Skyridge at NXN as well.

We all saw the national championship last week in Portland were the best US High School runners compete. Footlocker is like the Junior Olympics for kids, its just a name with no substance.
The best from California go to NXN. The girl that won Footlocker West didn’t have a top 30 time at the California state meet. Footlocker needs to find a way to bring the best from the west.

I mean, she had a bad day at the XC state meet. She's a sub 4:45 miler. She's legit.

This is this issue. It’s watered down so not as interesting. The team aspect of Nike is much more interesting now.
I’m from the 90s era when it was all about footlocker. However, I realize now it’s not the same event. Nike has stolen its thunder.
The two should try to figure something out. The thing is Nike in the drivers seat. So footlocker is gonna need make some changes or my guess it ends sometime over the next decade.

I think its safe to say that both races need to look at this topic....both races are calling themselves a National race, but both have impediments to allow all the top runners to qualify/attend.
Both races want the best individuals and best teams (for NXN) obviously. It would be nice to see them try to make some progress together to do so.

NXN is a better model and why the best individuals seemed to switch to NXN over the past 4-5 years. NXN became the better race once the switched from NTN to NXN. Footlocker had their chance but passed on the deal.
Footlocker should just get rid of the regional meets and invite the top 40 kids
A year ago, Masciarelli was being ordained as the nest "thing". Perhaps today was a bad day and she gets 7th. Tuohy a week ago wins, but barely, and people say she is done. Then today she runs this 6K.
BTW, someone should give credit to Hart to hanging on for 4th. Not her best day either, but she went for it and still finished high.
Hutchins looks like Tuohy from 2 years ago, just not quite as fast. Have to see how she does over the next 2 years. Another good race from Vanderkooi as well.
And 2nd year in a row, Ewert places high in both NXN and FL. Wish her well at Arkansas.
