Had Emma pegged at 5th but might have to install Ababel Yeshaneh in here. Must have been a late addition. 6th in Tokyo is enough to place her 5 here.
Yeshaneh is 28yo and ranked 58 as well as number 8 as a road runner. Her PB was that sixth in Tokyo in 2.24.02, taking 9.08 off her previous best. Ababel’s best at the half was second last year in Copenhagen in 65.46. This year won in Buenos Aries in 67.43 this last August. Yeshaneh’s best over 10k was last year, second in the Beach to Beacon in 31.26.

Here is my profile from the Rotterdam marathon, where he ran 2.05.42 to finish third:
This is a deep field, fifth finisher should be Emmanuel Saina. He is 26yo and ranked 26. If he does well here, i would like to see how he goes in a major. Was 4th in Dubai this January and won his only marathon of last year in Buenos Aries in 2.05.21, fastest ever at the time on that continent. Recorded amazing 5k splits between 25 and 30 of 14.09, then from 30 to 35 of 14.12 to burn off a field including Kipserem.
Next finisher should be Andrew Bumbalough, 32yo and ranked 453 as a road runner. In August, his fifth in the Crim Ten Miler and 7th in the Beach to Beacon were commensurate with, IMO, a placing among the top seven Americans here. His PB over the classic distance is 2.13.58 from Tokyo 2017 for 25th. Later that year was just six seconds slower in his 13th here. He was fifth in the bad weather of Boston last year.
21st lady may be Julia Roman-Duval, 37yo and ranked 615. Last year was her PB, 22nd at Sacramento in 2.36.31. Julia’s best on a record eligible course is 2.42.49, 18th here in 2016. Ran a half this last March in 76.33, a PB; showing a good sign of an improved time here.
22nd to complete the course should be another debutant. Reed Fischer has no age on his IAAF profile and is ranked 247. Ran his best half in Jan, tenth in Houston in 62.06. Last month, was fifth in the US 20k champs in 59.48.
Next woman will, IMHO, be Alyssa Schneider, 26yo and ranked 823. PB of 2.39.11 attained here last year in 17th place. That took 3.39 off her time in her debut the previous year.

Seems as though Vergara is out. Not on the list anymore.
Next finisher could be Ryan Root, 27yo and ranked 739. Was 15th in Houston this year in 2.16.45. That took 5.57 off his PB. His best half was also this year in Duluth, 11th in 64.52.
23rd female should be Kristen Heckert, 32yo and ranked 440 as a road runner. Best of 2.38.54 two years ago here, 17th. Over the years, has raced mostly in Illinois.
24th over the line could be Jonas Hampton, 30yo and ranked 943. 15th here last years and as I have said lots, ran past Parker Stinson near the end last year after a much more controlled first half of 66.08. Was 127th in Boston this year in 2.33.21. I guess that was only counting the men in front of him, maybe more like 140th overall.
That should be around 47, plus a few more after the Ineos thing
24th woman may be Chirine Njeim of Lebanon, 35yo and ranked 744. Her PB of 2.39.21 is from here in 2017, 19th.
Next finisher should be Matt McDonald, 26yo and ranked 613. PB set last year running 11th at Sacramento in 2.14.06. Was 21st in Boston this year in 2.16.58.
