It’s not crazy at all, lol. Elite colleges have every right to admit whoever they want. That might mean they want sufficient diversity, so marginal white kids get passed up for black students. Sorry, that’s life. Don’t like it? Study harder, I guess. The absolute best white students aren’t getting passed up.

Take the SAT and if your score is good enough, you are admitted to the school you want to attend.

If it is not good enough, you go somewhere it is good enough to attend.

Black, white, latino, alien being, whatever, no special considerations.

Look at it this way — Should a company be obligated to hire whoever gets a certain grade in college? Fair is fair

Of course not. They might be full up. They might not have a job for you to do. Maybe a different person gets hired in a different department because they need them and not you. That’s life! Grow up.

If anyone over the age of 18 spends any second of their life getting upset about college admissions, I feel very VERY sorry for them. What a boring life.

It's amazing on so many levels that you feel that it's ok for elite colleges to admit based on skin color!

No one owes you anything, least of all an elite private college that has every incentive to reject as many people as possible to lower their acceptance rate. Don’t like it? Tough. Life isn’t fair, snowflakes!

My parents came from Argentina before I was born, and I have a German last name. I’m as Latino as anyone, speak Spanish mostly at home, but because I’m white people have acted like I’m not and I’m thinking have you ever been to Buenos Aires and looked at the people there? Why is there some association with Hispanic and having brown skin in the US?

I’m sorry that Fox News has convinced you that that’s whats going on, but it isn’t. Affirmative action doesn’t guarantee minorities a spot at elite colleges. They might get a second look and get in over a mediocre white student who had every advantage in life and still managed to turn in a lousy application. That’s life!

The sad truth is that the reason black peoples score way lower in SATs is because they simply don’t apply themselves the same way and then they get a free pass to get into universities that they shouldn’t even be in. It’s completely unfair, these people living in the 1850s needs to get there heads out of there butts. Slavery has been over for quite some time, quit asking for hand outs just because your black smhgdh.

I'm not here to try and change your opinion on anything- that's impossible and wasted energy. Clearly, your mind is made up and closed on the matter. Though, I'd encourage you to consider the following: would you want a poorly/lesser qualified student to eventually become the person that you trust to remove your child's ruptured appendix?

You all Don't get it Affirmative Action is a De-Facto Reparation given to Blacks By JFK and LBJ 2 White Men who even though it might hurt their own children and nieces and nephews and Grandchildren etc. Felt it was the right thing to do it was 100% ALTRUISTIC and out of the GOODNESS OF THEIR HEARTS, and the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of Whites agreed it was the RIGHT THING TO DO

On average Whites score 1 Standard Deviation higher than Blacks on IQ test's 100-85, So 365 Years of Discrimination and having more intelligence on average to begin with and they don't complain, come on be fair are you trying to exclude them entirely?

I’ve explained this ad nauseam in this thread, dude. I’m sorry you don’t understand.

On average, life is tougher for people of color in this country, period. They have less access to quality education and are underrepresented within institutions of higher learning. Offering up a minuscule number of spots at elite colleges is literally the least we can do to right these wrongs.

lmao. No one is getting rejected “because they’re white.” Tens of white kids might get rejected from an elite school because students of color managed to achieve nearly identical results to theirs given much more adverse circumstances.

A black student with a 1500 SAT who’s grown up in adverse circumstances shows MUCH more promise than a white kid who grew up with every privilege life can offer and scored a 1550. If you don’t get that, I pity you.
