"If anything, me competing against cisgender females is a disadvantage.."@FPUathletics track star CeCe Telfer talks about the physical challenges she faces while competing as a transgender woman.
There aren't any studies that I'm aware of regarding the effect of hormones on athletic performance. It's possible that her reaction to the treatment makes her less competitive against women than she was as a guy competing against men. You don't know.
Your referring to her as "he" shows your bias.
Your referring to him as "her" shows your bias too.
Still looks like a guy!

He is a guy.
Solution- have a separate transvestite meet, transvestite league, transvestite Olympics etc. Case closed. Everyone’s happy, only those who care, care.
If that were the case, would it be courageous and trailblazing for a normal male to demand a bib number for the teste supressey champs?
Nice! The first step to a fair competition. Even a mediocre man can beat all the women. In equal pay for equal skill he should rightfully get the price. No discriminating own category for less qualified athletes(women)
Important thread and important debate.
Anybody who follows sports understands that this is an injustice.
A book that relates to this in a way and is a stimulating read - - The Blank Slate - The Modern Denial of Human Nature - By Stephen Pinker.
In this book he explores how social sciences in academia are so uncomfortable dealing with basic human nature and still cling to the out-moded view of 'the blank slate.' They cling to this for political reasons the utopian ideals of equality. But this blindness has spread into many - and lots of the younger adults.
The Blank Slate- a writer who has survived the most recent 5 yr social engineering campaign. Adds pleasant credence to the Zuckerberg army gray face meme.
She comes off so stupid in this interview. Clearly doesn’t get it.
Does Rojo have an actual life? Or does he just get triggered by trending topics?
To echo an earlier post, I am quite liberal on most issues, but totally opposed to this athlete, Semenya, and others racing against women. The argument has been stated ad nauseam, so I won't rehash that here, but I do want to point out that not all liberals are in favor of biological males competing against biological females, so the culture-war folks out there can cool off for a bit.
I will admit, I don't know enough about the science to draw a line where the appropriate amount of hormonal treatments can turn a male into a "female." Certainly in Semenya's case, lacking ANY hormonal treatment, this liberal person calls foul.
The real issue here is a two part problem.
1. lawyers: America is run by lawyers now and everyone is sue happy.
2. Saying No: No one says no anymore. There used to be a line you didn’t cross.
So saying No would bring about law suits and lawyers. We as a country allow that BS because lawyers and money win.
Let’s also put this in perspective. The NCAA is lazy and cheap as hell when it comes to anything track and field. So, I doubt that anyone at the NCAA performed any test to ensure that he/her was taking testosterone suppressing drugs.
So basically, a man got a women’s hairstyle, did nothing to lower his testosterone levels (show the proof, lab results), beat the crap out of every woman in D-2, and is considered a trailblazer?
A certain featherweight boxer beat a bunch of women too and wasn’t praised, he was shamed.
C’mon people, wake up

When people finally realize that transgenderism is an actual mental disorder.
No, it's not. But trans athletics, like most forms of human endeavor, will sometimes toss up idiocies. This is one of those.
Let's stop with the "liberals" crap. I don't think this issue breaks down like that. And "conservatives" would have the girls back in sewing class and not sweating so much. Is it fair to say that?
Knock it off, OK?

And if someone insists he is a snake must we respect that feeling by using words appropriate for a snake?

Lots of feminists are standing up to it, but unfortunately a lot of them end up with rape threats, death threats and mob like action of the transgender community turning on them, look at Sharon Davis, Kelly Holmes and all of the stuff on Twitter, it's shocking. There is also a lot of discussion about it on this forum:
As a socialist from the UK, I chuckle a bit at what is thought to be "liberal" but this case illustrates all that is wrong about the whole transgender subject. People should be allowed to (politely and without name-calling or stereotyping) say that they simply do not agree with the idea that people can "identify" as one sex or other for gain.
