1976 Olympic marathon; would nuke the doped to the gills East German test tube baby Cierpinski; I do believe Shorter would have been the deserving winner.
Honorable mention:
1972 Olympic marathon; wouldn't change the actual outcome of the race but I'd remove the prick who jumped onto the track pretending to win and took the moment of glory away from Frank Shorter. I remember watching this as a 12 year old kid and the crowd was whistling and booing while Frank was doing the last lap on the track. Frank got his gold of course but that really spoiled his moment. Ironically I believe the dick's name was something like Stephan Prefontaine..
