Like I said, I think there is a responsible way to take LSD, and he didn't follow those procedures. I agree he may have taken something other than LSD, but he should have had someone sober to make sure this kind of thing didn't happen.

From the article I read, his girlfriend said there may have been "multiple doses" on the tab he ingested -- again, the more responsible thing to do would be to start small and see where that takes him.

A freshman dorm room seems like one of the WORST places to try something like this.

I disagree with the spiked drink comparison -- for those of age, its legal to purchase and consume alcohol. If the drink is spiked, that means someone else purposely was trying to harm the drinker.

It isn't legal for anyone to buy LSD.

Lastly, the MOST responsible thing to do is not do drugs.

I think that he took much more than just one dose and that was a part of the extreme reaction. Pending history and psychological evaluation, I'd think that the kid's entire life shouldn't be ruined but that he ought to be given probation and a second chance given the circumstances.

News Flash: You're still responsible for your behavior even if you are tripping out on LSD (or any other drug for that matter).

For example, if you chew someone's face off while tripping on bath salts you're likely going to go to jail.

A few posts supporting that LSD has some utility , like showing you who you are , or is kind of cool if you are cool enough and smart enough to do it the right way. These are dog crap posts. It doesn't show you who you are and like all drugs it's mostly, despite a few potential thrills , stupid to use it.

That's the slippery slope that unregulated substances comes with. LSD was never for me, but I am intrigued by the feedback some people take from their trips. There are so many variables that goes into how one metabolizes a substance, and what their mind set is going into the experience, and how that individual handles being in an altered, heightened state. What can be so dangerous about something like LSD, is that we're talking about micrograms of a dose that can and will totally warp your entire CNS, and if you're not ready for that, god bless you. Unless drugs like these come from a regulated lab with explicit details of exactly what's in that tab, you have to accept you're taking a big risk.

Bad designer drug, but not LSD.

He and his friends may have thought it was, but nobody is raping anyone under the influence of LSD, period.

I agree. This is why LSD should be made by Sandoz and distributed through a regulated market.
