I beat Chris Derrick twice in high school...before he become good.
I beat Bill Rodgers when he was already an old, old man.
That's about it.

Who is the fastest runner you have ever actually won over? (Better result in a race.)
I am not talking about someone who is DNS because then you didn’t actually beat them in “the field of play.”
My “PB scalp” is Galen Rupp in the 2018 Boston Marathon.
It was a while ago, but I beat Herb Elliot in the mile and when I switched to the hurdles I beat Edwin Moses a couple of times (1978 and 1986).

I beat Erik Nedeau and Paul Vandegrift in a 1500m race three weeks before the 1996 Olympic Trials.
I finished in 3:42.1 and qualified for the Trials but did not go on to make it to the finals.
They went on to finish 4th and 7th (I believe), so they were fit at the time. And Paul's time finishing behind me was his qualifying time for the trials that year (His lifetime PR is 3:38 as is Erik's).
I finished close to Spivey in that race, which was cool.
I think I beat Rich Kenah in a race somewhere but surely not when he was fit.
I know who you are.
Craig Mottram.
I'll say a CCC school
My high school team put 5 guys ahead of Riley Masters at XC New Englands his senior year. Kinda hilarious to think about now since we were all solid but far from DI material even.

DNF isn't a win.
I think you misunderstood.
HE was DNF. So I beat him.
No the conditions beat him.
I once Ron Hill. His son Graham was one place ahead of me do you can work out he was not at his peak.
I never counted beating someone just having a bad run. My friend was about 1 minute faster than me over 5km. I was charging him in a 5km Russ race then realised he'd just blow up going with the leaders and had given up. If I'd improved by a minute and beat him that's one thing. To me this didn't count because if the competition was just is 2 he'd have beaten me easy. He'd tried to win the race and misjudged it.
I ran faster today than i did yesterday

You guys missed this one. Edwin Moses was pretty much undefeated during this time. Also how many people can be world class in the mile and hurdles
Well, my mate Paddy reckons he beat Herb Elliott in the 1962 English Cross Country Championships ( 9 muddy miles) but I'm not so sure he did.
Herb came 35th in that race and I'm don't think my mate was in the top 50 finishers.

Rupp got a near $20,000 for that DNF. How much did you get?
Your point being?
What a dumb post!
Haile Gebrselassie was paid more than Martin Lel to run the 2007 London Marathon. Lel won the race. Geb dropped out. Who had a better finish?
I don't care if Rupp was paid a bit to DNF. I made much more during the same training cycle, working a normal job, AND beat him in Boston.
Emanuel Korir, 2016 Joe Piane xc invite. Think he thought there was one less 0 in the race distance.
My best true scalps are Centro in the mile and Rupp in the 5000. They were young but ran 4:03 and 13:45ish in the races I beat them.
I'd bet money you're from Bethel lol

Lmfao you’re pathetic.
You.
Did.
Not.
Beat.
Him.
I used to have great races against some top guys in highschool. There were 5 of us who could all beat each other on any given day. Never ended up doing much myself because of injuries but the other 4 all went on to be sub 4 milers. Think they all broke 14 in the 5k too. Some of the races we had as kids were legendary eyeballs out up the home straight stuff. And I won my fair share.
Alan Webb, this was the summer of 2001 at the Utica Boilermaker. This was the same year he ran that 3:53 mile. He was in great shape, but he didn't race that day, he just ran it as a workout.
Frank Shorter in 1986 Tyler, TX Azalea Trail Run- he was 38 yrs old, long past his prime but was still running in the high 31- low 32 min range for 10K.
your Mom
I beat Mo Ahmed in a few track races in high school, and was also training partners with him. We had some pretty good workouts together. That was when I was in grade 12 and he was in grade 10. We were both around 15:00 5k guys at the time. It wasn't until his final few years of high school that he really progressed. I can say I was high school training partners with the guy who came 4th at the olympics in the 5k in Rio... so I guess that's pretty cool.
About a month prior to the 2012 London games and before that we met up for a workout for old times sake. His workout: 5 times 2k @ 10k pace. My workout... run the 1st, 3rd, and 5th lap of each interval. Good speed work for me!
