Instagram runners are the absolute worst

You do realise that most of you are fully grown men chasing an unrealistic teenage dream whilst looking down on people trying to get in shape with their children, people taking up the sport who are just out there to dress up, make friends, enjoy the vibes and have fun.

These fun runners should be the ones looking down on YOU for being a manic OCD who still has the mentality of a teenager but they are probably far too busy enjoying life, being involved with their families or social lives to do that.

Also, for the people who are on instagram to promote: You’re the ones talking on a message board, they’re the ones working freelance, getting paid and/or having fun.

And lastly, the narcissistic group of runners on instagram such as that sub 21 minute 5k chick who is obsessed with her body and documents her every run in minimal clothing to show it off, their main motovation to finish a workout is to brag about it on instagram. Ahh, I think this is the group that the average letsrun poster would identify with most.

Listen, most of y’all are no different than this, your mentality might manifest in slightly different ways but you look down on others not as fast because you base all of your self worth on your running and you have no idea how to enjoy life outside of that because the only enjoyment you really get is when you’re out there running thinking you’re the only person in the world capable of working so hard and when you look in the mirror at your half cancer patient/half chiselled body and think “look how fit I am, all my fat neighbours wish they were me with no responsibilities outside of fitness instead of enjoying themselves having 3 back-yard barbecue parties a week with their families”. Occasionally you will get a slight slap in the face of reality and realise that you’re lonely and miserable void of all personality because you refuse to see a shrink about your OCD and NPD but you think “nah, it’s okay because at least I can run a sub 16 5k and that’s all that matters in life... right? That’s a pretty good time right? I’d better seek validation on the internet to make sure, maybe even compare myself to a few 25 minute 5kers to make myself feel better” and then you remember that there are people out there who can race a whole minute per mile faster than you which may actually get you questioning the meaning of your life and send you into a huge depressive episode for the rest of the night.

Yeah ... I wouldn’t wanna spend 5 minutes at a bar with the average person here...
