"Visions of Johanna"
At the time the Blonde on Blonde album came out we were dropping a lot of acid. There were two songs that seemed to capture the experience. "Celeste" by Donovan and "Visions of Johanna."
"Ain't it just like the night to play tricks when you're tryin' to be so quiet?
We sit here stranded, though we're all doin' our best to deny it...
...in this room the heat pipes just cough
The country music station plays soft...
...The ghost of 'lectricity howls in the bones of her face..."
If you ever dropped acid you know the sensation of electricity howling in the bones of your face.
Another realistic song about the drug experience is Mr Tambourine Man.
And, as someone mentioned earlier, "Subterranean Homesick Blues" was actually the first rap song to become a commercial hit.
Marlon Brando made his reputation with two movies. Streetcar Named Desire & On the Waterfront.
If Dylan had only written:
"Blowin' in the Wind,"
"The Times They Are A-Changin,"
"Like a Rolling Stone,"
"It's Alright Ma,"
"Mr Tambourine Man,"
"Visions of Johanna,"
"Shelter From the Storm,"
"Things Have Changed,"
"Standing in the Doorway,"
"Not Dark Yet,"
"Ain't Talkin,"
"'Moonlight,"
He still would have won the Nobel Prize.
