Bekele can easily win in a 2:10 race. The point is he don't want to win races. HE want to improve his PR, he wants the world record. That's why he don't compete in slow tactical race. He either go for World record, and if that's not coming, he prefer to have a DNF. Nobody can deny that he the greatest 5000m and 10000m runner and to cement his legacy as GOAT, he needs the world record.

Americans want to see Americans do well in Chicago, NY and Boston. They don't remember the East Africans two months after they win. Crazy how the announcers of a Major Marathon are playing up an East African runner during a TV broadcast. I always wished they would have shown more of Jordan Hasay during Chicago an Boston.
