That tainted Jager. Of course. Just like Rupp, when he was on the likely doping list. We know that the numbers of dopers (at least 45% in 2011) is much higher than the one on the likely doping list...
And Rupp was also found to have a suspiciously high T/E ratio last year.
And, I know the fans like to downplay it, but USADA is convinced that NOP used a prohibited method to illegally enhance performance with several athletes over several months - including Rupp. If USADA can prove that, it will result in a four year ban for all these athletes.
Now I know, it was allegedly only for l-carnitine, but look at it this way: if the group risks a four year ban for something as ridiculous as l-carnitine, imagine what they'd do for something much more promising like EPO, testo, HGH, which would not be punished harder?
We shouldn't blame Shalane and Meb. Shalane is spot on when she says:
"So as a fan of my own sport, it’s hard to have full excitement and faith when you don’t know all the facts yet."
A lot has been said on this topic, by people who "don’t know all the facts yet." Shalane and Meb did not create this uncertainty, but are understandably confused about how they should feel about the victories in the current environment of uncertainty.
Whether NOP is right or wrong, I see that NOP is in a kind of lose-lose scenario.
Rupp says in interviews that he is confident that in the long run, the truth will come out, because they are doing things "the right way" and not breaking the rules. I am not so optimistic, that *IF* Alberto and Rupp have been telling the truth all along, that it would ever come out in the long run.
I only see two possible outcomes:
1) Some investigation finally finds someone connected to NOP guilty of something (be it an ADRV, medical malpractice, shipping controlled drugs across borders, 100ml infusions, etc.).
2) No investigation produces a path that leads to any guilty finding, dossiers remain open, maintaining a state of perpetual limbo of uncertainty.
Putting aside any alleged local, state, or international law violations (legal matters for non-antidoping jurisdictions) suppose for a moment, for the sake of argument, that the unbiased reality is, within the limited scope of WADA's jurisdiction of anti-doping, that NOP has always stayed within WADA rules, for those athletes and staff subject to WADA rules. No one will come forward and officially clear Alberto/Rupp/Farah/Hasay/NOP of suspicion. If USADA's investigations all lead to dead-ends, they will simply quietly leave the dossier open in case further evidence arrives later, and not comment on an open investigation. USADA is not conducting a commissioned Independent Investigation, to address the BBC Panorama/Publica allegations, like WADA did, with an expectation of a hundred page detailed report with findings and recommendations. There will be no James Comey announcement where USADA will say in an official press release, that after a lengthy 4 year+ targeted inquiry, they have no evidence of any NOP athlete committing an ADRV at any time, culminating in recommendations for rule changes, and referring some topics for other legal jurisdictions to investigate. Even the Fancy Bears "leaked report" was something in the narrow scope of getting Dr. Brown depositioned (something that failed), and was never meant to be made public -- we will not see a final version of the "leaked report".

If you travel in the same circles as Meb and Shalane you would know things that the general public is unaware of. If you talk off the record to any pro runner they will have an experience with Alberto or no someone that has. I guarantee that it would make you every bit as suspicious as Meb or Shalane.
Saying that there is no proof to a pro runner is like telling someone that there is no proof that OJ was guilty of murder.
If you are closely involved you just know. That is why Rojo has a difficult time with all of this. He travels in the circles and he knows things.
Meb and Shalane were both careful with their words. They both feel much stronger.

Back in 2003 I talked to a rookie pro and Alberto Salazar came up (it was at a marathon expo and Dick Beardsley had been there talking about his Duel in the Sun.) He rolled his eyes at the mention of Alberto and muttered something negative and I just remember being really surprised as to an outsider I just figured with Alberto's history as a runner and now coach that he would be someone highly respected within the industry which was not the case. Again this was years before any of these recent allegations came to light and I never followed running much other than during the Olympics so I had no idea what he meant but now knowing more about Salazar as well as Nike it's much more clear.
Also Shalane is not the first person to make these comments. There is a reason her and Huddle and Simpson would never associate themselves with the NOP.

I wouldn't say you're an idiot. I say that because you are able to type semi-coherent sentences. IQ unfortunately still seems very low, perhaps in the 30-40 range, so you fall in to the imbecile category. Not the end of the world but there is certainly room for improvement.
You guys can tear down anyone who says, when asked, that they are skeptical of the NOP and find it hard to find glee in their success, but at some point you are going to have to come to terms with the fact that nearly every professional that is asked that question who isn't a part of the NOP, and even some who were a part of the NOP, give that kind of a response.
Maybe it's not just bitter jealousy.

In Shalane's very first marathon, she was 2nd in NY.
She's also been top 10 at the Olympics TWICE. In 2014, she had TWO races at 2:22:02 or faster. In that year, she came a lot close to winning in Berlin than Jordan did (Chicago this year 56 behind the winner when Shalane ran 2:21:14).
You say she never came close to winning Boston. Well she did run 2:22:02 there but the performance wasn't appreciated as two dopers were ahead of her.
Some people act like Shalane or Meb are bitter for being honest and saying they don't know what to think.I just don't agree with that logic.
I was thinking there is one other thing we need to remember about Salazar - the guy who had Rupp on "testosterone medication" in HS - he also was good friends with the biggest frauds in history - Lance Armstrong.
They could all be clean no doubt. But all of sports has taught us over the last 20 years if it seems too good to be true, it normally is.

agreed...and the fact that slaney got popped and sal was her coach, and people have been saying things like this against sal and NOP long before ruppy poop was even in hs.
but you guys do have one thing right, i do think it is bitter jealousy but completely JUSTIFIED....i think its better to call it RESENTMENT
think about it, you train your a$$ off and sal and NOP, have all of nikes backing, and are allowed to grey area, micro dose and androgel rub downs with happy endings and its not just covered up, its ALLOWED. if minorities can complain about "white privilege" and they arent called bitter and jealous, then other athletes who are disgruntled about sal/NOP privilege shouldnt be called bitter and jealous.
i like to think of it like hs football. Nike is the coach, and Sal is one of the offensive coordinators. rupp is his son so of course he gets to be quarterback, and all the favorite NOP guys are the starters. the other NOP guys are talking dummies and used up to keep ruppy poop from getting injured in practice. and all the other guys regardless of how good never get a chance to play. over the years its been a known fact that everyone of Sals sons have been starting quarterback, and he gives them the sauce, rigs it so they always win homecoming, blames the O line if they lose, praises his savior son when they win and always gets them the glory in the newspaper.
then you have the cheerleaders, non NOP girls never win the homecoming queen, and then girls like kara get pounded out passed around, she feels used and sluty, tries to defend herself and head coach NIKE and offensive coordinator Sal, slander her name and she goes from popular to repulsive slut, and threatening anyone else if they try to say anything they will have the same fate.
Mo is like the talented black dude from a few counties over, transfers over for his last few years of hs so he can try to get a top scholarship. they make sure he buddies up with Ruppy poop and is protected just as much and makes the Coach and offensive coordinator look like geniuses.
but like most ridiculous teen movies, the mighty eventually fall...i cant wait
