How's your running going? Is there a local results site for you?
Running in the 17's for 5k. Still a ways from the top 50, or 100, or 150 in DC-MD-VA.

Chuck Moeser may have "retired" but he is still racing. He ran in a tough half-marathon in Williamsburg, VA and he's been doing some 10ks and 5ks between Herdon and Fredericksburg.
Check out that half from Williamsburg, it was featured in RW a while back I think, probably has some metro area studs, as the W&M kids put it on and don't participate.
How about Trevor Cable from Williamsburg? He ran a pretty good half in the colonial half (5th overall) and finished 3rd in the Shamrock marathon this march.
A few recent college grads that come to mind
Scott Herrick-10th overall at last years Baltimore Marathon
Mike Stycinzki (sp?)-i think hes had some solid road races since graduation
impressive results for Trevor Cable and a bunch of young guys listed from Williamsburg, VA at the Shamrock Marathon. Are those guys in school, or college drop-outs? their ages look like they should be in college.
Google and Dyestat puts Cable as a New York all-star that would be a senior now, results have him running for William & Mary.
I don't think we're supposed to count kids that are in college, especially if they're not in-state...

Gary you running the Army ten miler again?
I'm retired now, so I'll be running it for the first time NOT on an Army Team. I'm still planning on running though, and then drinking beer Sunday night.
Chuck Moeser ran the St. Patricks Day 10K in Washington DC, a few weeks after that Colonial Half Marathon, which was on 2-27-05. The St. Patty's Day race was on 3-13-05, he pulled a hamstring, ran with his daughter and then announced on one of the message boards that he was retiring. He's quite old fashioned, I have a lot of respect for him. My type of people.
That's great to hear Wayne! Very good! Sounds like everything is going well with your running. I'll shoot you an email in the next couple of days.
LOL! Maybe you missed the 56:57 for ten miles the week before? Ran the first mile of that 5K in about 5:07 wanted to go under 16, obviously it wasn't very close.
You can't run a 5K to your maximum potential if you've run a longer distance race the week before. You must practice racing the distance in order to be successful at it.

How many examples to the contrary do you want? Dozens, hundreds or thousands?
Alex,
Great list. Ben Cookie and Post, both great former JMU guys. Eric Kweeder...blast for the past. Wasn't he in the marines for a while? Great in high school but dumb as a rock...poor kid.
How about some Southwest VA guys...like Ben or Jason Dowdy, Probst - VA Tech formers...?
Will Wyche, Clay Schwabe...ran at Army but are both from VA?
Alex,
I was pretty sure FARC wasn't you. Good to hear that things are coming back together for you running-wise. Don't bother responding to the haters, FARC is probably a 5:45 pace guy in HS who thinks he's hot.
Re: my running, I have a couple of little nagging things that are bugging me, but not enough to have been a prob on Sun.

i am not sure, but i think graff\'s 28:03 at stanford should qualify him for the list. living in rosslyn. training alone.
sorry, it was road racing only, anyway, 3rd at the usatf 10 mile three weeks ago should still do it. i recall something like 47:20 at cherry blossom a few years ago for him too.
Isn't that 10 miler you ran on a net downhill course?
Why not just call this list the top 1000 runners in the DC metro area and put yourself on the list?
Did/does Bobby Lockhart graduate from Wisco this year?
As far as SW Va. goes, don't bother, there isnt anyone now that Brain Herb has split for N.C.
Charlie Koester of Harford County is the best of them all

If that is the list then Brendan Rodgers should betop 2 or 3
Does he live in DC? I thought he was in Palo Alto... With whom is he training?
Stickley is still competing.
I thought John Tuttle lived in Douglasville, Georgia.
Michael Harrison and Tim Covington won the Richmond Marathon several times each. Are they still running?
