There was a video interview with Shannon sometime within the past year when she was going through a slump, I think it was last Spring. In the interview, she said she planned to speak with "her coaches" to have them tell her what to do to get her fitness back. Based on that interview it appears she has at least two Oregon Project coaches working with her.

But this is not some kind of revelation. If you guys actually stayed informed on track you would know this isn't something that's been hushed up for a long time. There are lots of newspaper articles about it.

Here's the thing.

Salazar is the head coach and has created all of the training philosophy and dictates all of the training. Pete Julian see's the day to day and is the "head" main point person for athletes like Shannon and Jenkins.

A lot of this is a distraction given the constant NOP allegations whether they are true or not.

This is why Farah has created a separation. Salazar still writes his training.

Amid all of the allegations Nike is doing its best to spin a more positive image of the NOP.

Which includes creating a separation from Farah and Salazar.

Making Pete Julian more in the fold.

Getting Hasey and Rupp to do well in Major US marathons. (Hasay Doing Well definitely added some positive attention to the crew)

Also the addition of likable Athletes like Engles and Jenkins help bring more positive attention to the group.

Make no mistake though. Salazar is in charge of Everything whether we see him or not.

No one is going to yell at Pete like they would if Salazar was at worlds this weekend.

also amusing/sad how Fleshman speaks so vehemently against any drug cheat yet went to salazar herself for "help."...and ended up getting an inhaler out of the deal. Sorry, but talk about disingenuous, both her and KG. Honestly have very little respect for either athlete, as far as their consistency is concerned.

Leaving aside the obvious --

Goucher getting access to state of the art everything for injury prevention/management was probably the most important thing. And if there is one thing Salazar is an expert on, it's overtraining. Maybe he was able to keep Goucher from doing that.

Ritz spent the month resting up from Hudson's schedule.

Farah pretty clearly had the talent to get 90% of the way; perhaps Salazar was able to show him what he needed to do to get the last 10%.
