It says on his twitter page that Dave Keighley is a former Royal Marine. Not that I'm trying to draw a link between ex army types and charity scams, but weren't RY and DR both ex army?

That's a pretty ordinary record, I am guessing that as she isn't a club member, Po10 only picks up notable races.

No PoT only picks up on registered athletes in the main. These are normally club members with England Athletics registration. Even then you generally need to do a track race to get your profile to be generated. However the sister site Run Britain records all finishers of all licensed races regardless of whether you are registered with EA or not.

Yes they can. They are their own trustees, they can pay themselves whatever they want out of the charity funds. It's a common problem with all charities, a lot of the donations you think are going to do real work is actually used to pay the salaries and expenses of those that own/direct the charity.

Yes, that was what I meant, I have over 500 performances on Po10

It's very easy to link all of your performances on Runbritain even if you are not affiliated to a club.

I had about 70+ on mine before I joined a club.

Yup. Any serious athlete should be able to tell she's full of it just by watching her run for 10 seconds. All you needed with Rob Young was a photo. Yet, there will undoubtedly be hordes of people who will defend her until the end of time. The world's supply of suckers is bottomless.

Who the hell cares if it's in Guinness? If she actually did it and knows she did it, then she has the satisfaction of doing it. It's not like Guinness is keeping track of most ultra records anyway.

But this wasn't a "competition", it was a record-breaking attempt (successful) to raise money for charity.
