A bunch of "know it alls" who have no idea what they are talking about and this website that continues to allow slanderous statements like this against NOP athletes.

There is no "spirit of the sport" rule in the WADA Code. This has been discussed at length. Here's a brief summary:
Under the CODE, WADA can only use the "spirit of the sport" when it is deciding whether to put a specific substance or method on the Prohibited List. (WADA Code, 4.3) Otherwise, under the Code, people can only be banned for violating one of the specific rules laid out in Section 2 of the WADA Code, and in the Prohibited List.
Given this, it seems likely the charge will be infusing more than 50ml in 6 hours.

It might not be legit, but it's not against the WADA Code. The Code says nothing about thyroid supplementation. The USADA asked WADA to put thyroid meds on the Prohibited List, but WADA refused.
Thyroid medicine is used not just an issue for NOP. After all, Salazar learned about thyroid meds from Wetmore, via the Gouchers.

A head start is against the rules, thyroid meds are not.
Whether thyroid meds are unfair, dangerous or a violation of the spirit of the sport, they are allowed under the current doping rules. Until those rules are changed, it is not cheating to use them. Period.

Good point. It's called "complicity" in the Code. But since people can only be charged with covering up a doping violation, any complicity charge will be on top of doping charge. And it's hard to see that being about anything besides infusions.

Wow, some people on this website are ridiculous. This points to a total lack of understanding about the disease.
For example, I have hypothyroidism. I was a competitive runner on the up-and-up, making improvements and increasing my training. Then, I started feeling like crap for days after any workout. Got to the point where I assumed I was chronically overtrained. Good some blood work done and boom... Hypothyroid. Started taking meds and now I can train normally... Sort of. I haven't felt as good as I used to and I fear I never will.
Its certainly not equivalent to cheating.

I suppose he could also be charged w/ possession of a prohibited method, but the trafficking and administration already seems kind of like double-counting.

OK. I personally think they are using thyroid hormone to try to enhance performance. Whatever you or I think about the ethics or integrity of that decision, it doesn't change the fact that it is legal.

I must be missing something, because I don't understand what it means talk about disproportionate use of an allowed substance under the doping rules. Since thyroid meds are not banned, there are no restriction of their use by runners. Under the doping rules, runners can use thyroid meds whenever, and for whatever reason, they want.
Using or prescribing drugs without a sound medical reason might create legal or licensing problems for a doctor or patient, but it does not create doping problems for runners under the WADA Code. The Code imposes no restrictions on the reasons people take thyroid drugs, (or allowable drugs more generally). The Code only requires reasons when people take banned drugs; those reasons must be given in order to get a TUE. But since thyroid meds are not banned...
