I was at the meet. One local runner entered other events so as to not compete head on. The CIAC policy is compete as identifying gender. NFHS has this:https://www.nfhs.org/articles/developing-policies-for-transgender-students-on-high-school-teams/

The only way it can be addressed is if the girls competing stand up and protest, but by doing so they will be made to look like they aren't sympathetic or supportive to the transgender population.

NFHS and CIAC may need to stop sidestepping the issue now and deal with it, but that isn't the usual way they do things.

I'm all for rights and equality in school and other public places, but it's a whole different story if it's athletics.

Who will be responsible for monitoring the treatment and who pays for the confirmation testing that they are in fact at normal male/female levels?

Why should rojo propose in detail for you what is already NCAA regulation? Do your own research doc.

This a freshman kid. Even if you completely are against this, be respectful. Rojo/Wejo went out of there way try to limit the public backlash of the freshman bandit at NXN, why should this be different.

Suicide rates are up in teenagers already because of social media, what kind of affect do you think it has on those being personally lambasted on a national forum like this. Look what Letsrun did to destroy Moan and he was an adult.

You can disagree with the school's or state's policy, but don't hate on the individual that is playing within the current rules. And don't pull that crap argument that her being a State Champ means she is open to this kind of talk about her. That is like telling a girl it is her fault some jerk grabbed her ass because she dress up too nice.

Sticking to the state policies, I agree that males transitioning to females should compete in the open/male division as there is a clear advantage if competing against males even with hormone treatments. This would also prevent forcing young kids to decide on starting treatments just to be able to compete. They should be able to make that decision without any pressure.

You need to take a step back for a moment and realize this is probably a 15 or 16-year-old kid. I think it was disgusting for you to post her face that on Twitter and Facebook.

If you are born male you need to compete with males and vise versa. Lets be real here if she was born a female and identified as a male would she seriously want to compete with the boys? Answer is not a chance because she would get annihilated. Lucky for this guy it is working in his favor. My thoughts are why not make a transgender division and if you don't identify as your own gender this is were you compete. Outcome nobody's feelings get hurt and it dissolves all controversy. If he or she what ever they identify as wants to complain that it is unfair because they don't get to compete with anyone than come back to reality and compete with your born gender.
