I know that Clinger is Mormon. I read something on milesplit about his college decision. He said that Oregon was willing to be flexible in him taking two years off for a mission so that didn't play a factor in choosing his college. As for Johns and Parker, I have no clue.

Dodds and Spencer BOTH were nearly 4 and 3 and seconds respectively slower one week later.
Not sure what you are trying to get at and I truly do not have a dog in this fight. But I think you simply wrote down the wrong +/- for Dodds' time delta and didn't give it a quick glance over. 4:05 and change is most certainly not almost 4 seconds slower than the 4:09 he ran the week before.
So your point can still be made about Cole Spencer dropping 3 seconds from Prelims to Finals, but the team had 2 other boys improve more than that and another run the same.

But it is inferred by studying MileSplit.com's all-time 1600m lists (indoors and outdoors) that in ONLY ONE of those high school sub-4:00 mile races -- when Grant Fisher ran a 3:57.93 1600m en route to his 3:59.38 mile (June 4, 2015), was an official 1600m time recorded.
Based on those lists, no other high school kid has ever been officially credited with a sub-4:00 1600m, indoors or outdoors.
