Is it normal for elites to be taking all this non-food/OTC s***?! I'm drug tested and declare only 5 things (multivitamin, Vit D, mineral complex, super B complex, iron pills).
Prescription sleeping pills (zolpidem is ambien) and prescription painkillers (Celebrex) Yeah nothing to see here. Wouldn't be surprised if they've experimented with tramadol too.
Obviously most of this is done strictly for performance enhancing reasons and is technically not illegal, but completely against the spirit of sport.
That being said, if I were young and in their position I would probably be coerced easily into doing the same. Don't hate the players...

Long before that came out, he alluded to the health costs of his own over training.
He had the Testo around for his own health / quality of life. Er, so he could get it up when his wife is around.
There are numerous articles now telling older guys to get their hormone levels tested if they are suffering low libido or symptoms of depression. Both of which AS has mentioned he has suffered from in various interviews and books.
Montelukast is Singulair, an allergy medication that millions of people in the USA take during the month of May. It's not a PED. Cut the crap.
Nothing interesting here. In this climate I would not be surprised if anyone was found taking PEDS. But nothing in this list.
I also don't like it when they pick on someone like Rupp who clearly has an asthma condition. Some days the oxygen just isn't there.

Ok, I will connect the dots for you. One symptom of steroid use (steroids are prescription PEDs btw, banned drugs) is ACNE. That is why Schippers is suspected of doping -- her ever-present skin condition.
I took nothing in my competitive running days. No vitinins, not even aspirin when I had a headache. Even thought an inhaler was a medical advantage over a genetic weak body that naturally could not handle running.
I was out there but it does show you all these supplements and things to find that edge. And that edge is easy to go over.
As for training with NOP but being trained by her HS coach how is that possible? I doubt NOP is following a HS coaches workout plan. Haven't you read on here lately... They all suck.
Just my reasoning from available info, it seems NOP is not interested in clean sport per se, rather they push boundaries to compete with actual cheats, or to beat those that choose or do not have the means to push the boundaries at all. I've read nothing at this point that makes me believe there is guilt to breaking the word of the rules.
But it is obvious these folks do not care for the spirit of the sport, at lease my interpretation of the spirit of the sport. It seems large amounts of money and time have been spent by NOP to determine exact positive testing points. Push right to the limit and stop. To what gain?
How much respect would there be for this group if they spent the same time, money and effort to expose actual cheats, or help develop new testing and infrastructure to ensure clean sport? Rather, the choice has been made to win at all cost, get on a podium and sell more product.
If your thing is to just see world records every weekend, so be it. I can go to a horse track and see faster performances any day of the week. But that's not why I love this sport. If clean Americans can't compete with clean Africans because of genetics, altitude, etc... that's a bummer for a fan of American runners, but at least there is an honest baseline. Right now all this PED/obviously questionable usage is killing the sport, and to me NOP is part of this problem, guilty of actual rules being broken or not.

To all the junkies on this thread: the fact you are/were drugged up does not make it right.
Of course nothing illegal was revealed: it is just what they declared. And even that is shocking because it reveals a mentality. There is nothing normal about taking medicines when you're healthy. Doctors and labs may tell you otherwise, but keep in mind they are selling the products.

Nearly all of those 'drugs' on the list are in the multivitamins and mineral complex tablets you take.
