Centro with a pretty good time. I wish he tried stick up front though. I do believe Centro would be a better 5k runner than he could ever be at 800/1000.

Are you crazy? He almost lost to Filip Ingebrightsen....
Centro was never a factor in the race. Fast pace is his Achilles heel.

Nope. He has a much better 800 than 5k time.

ingebrigtsen is no slouch. He almost ran centro down in the indoor 1500m, and nicked willis at the line then IIRC

Let's see. He didn't sleep for 2 nights.
And according to the announcer, he's dad's been taking
him out drinking every night since Saturday, and showing
off the Gold Medal, LOL.
Still, compared to all the other American athletes who dashed on home... Centro and some others headed to Europe and are racing like professionals.
Unless you've run under 2:20 in the 1k. SU.
Here's some perspective...
The 1000m canadian record is 2:16 low by Graham Hood.... Hood was good, but never close to wiining Oly gold over 1500m.
It just show Centro's run is very not that good! 2:16 is fast, but really not THAT fast!
The Olympians are just collecting a pay check today.

At the moment, you are correct. I believe he has the potential to be better at 5k than 800m. In 5 years he will have run a much better 5k than he ever did at 800.
Except for Elaine Thompson, this hasn't been much of a meet.
Centro was only 3 seconds off Wohlhuter's AR. I don't think that is all that shabby going against the longest standing men's AR.
But no, he wasn't a factor in this race.
Murphy will be more likely to take it down than Matt in the future.

Not correct. His mother was an excellent 800m runner. Centro gets has fast twitch from her. Centro is closer to her genetically than his father.
That seems pretty professional to be out drinking every night and then racing in a Diamond League event. More like an excuse and recipe for going home DEVASTATED!

Did I mention that it was fluke Olympic win by Centrowitz. Oh yeah I did. Just wanted to make sure.
Track may be the only sport in which the olympians are not all going home and celebrating. These comments prove why a medal is so great. I actually respect him more for lining up. Where is the south African 400 guy?

Anyone noticing how different it is to watch a DL meet versus the Olympics. In a DL, I pretty much only care about who wins. At the Olympics, everyone is celebrating the third placer.
If Rupp runs 2:10 in NY and places third in NY, people dont go ga-ga over it on letsrun.com.
Do you suffer from depression? From memory loss? Chronic inability to think lucid thoughts?

Get out.
This is the first of many races that centro fans will make excuses for his sub par performance.
No need to make excuses. Centro won the top priority of 2016. This was just a paycheck and a trip to Lake Geneva.

You've obviously never been on the Pro circuit.
And out drinking...can mean a lot of things. The have a two drink MAX rule on NOP. And Senior is a recovered alcoholic, so he's likely drinking virgins. And Hutchens was putting in a little flavor from his days.
Some of us now how to go out drinking and nurse a few without getting buzzed or hammered.
