Yes, the coverage is abysmal. I would much rather pay flotrack to get uninterrupted coverage than this crap. Everyone here complains about paying for flotrack or ustaf.tv. You want free coverage? This is what you get.
Free= $124.95 a month for the package that includes NBC sports.
Just in case someone watching Pre in person is reading this thread...

Announcers explaining pacemaker: they make the pace.
Do football announcers explain what a time out is?
I think that announcers in track and road-racing events should be required to explain that, in certain races, the runners who are leading much of the race actually aren't considered "in" the race and would probably be ostracized by sports authorities and other athletes if they competed honestly and tried to win. If that were explained often enough, perhaps the inherent fraudulence of the concept might become more apparent and unacceptable to those fans who have become inured to the practice.

That was Berian saying eff you Phil Knight.
You're a moron. Knight is near retired. Doesn't bother himself with this stuff.
That is why the has a CEO and a Legal Staff.
Knight's FU to the critics is his net worth of $30+ bn, FTMFW!
The free Eurosport link online is actually quite good. Announcers are fairly knowledgeable and fairly enthusiastic. Minimal commercial breaks. Pleasantly surprised!
The steeple got it's own thread but reposting here too:
Jebet led by about 3.5 seconds at the bell.
Kiyeng closed well and only .04 separated them at the finish. Jebet got the win and 2nd sub 8:00 clocking ever.
Emma Coburn officially is the American record holder. She had run 9:11.42 but there wasn't drug testing there so the AR was Jenny Simpson's 9:12.50.

My point was that the explanation is implied in the name: pacemaker, in the same way that term "timeout" explains what it is.
And the announcers in baseball or football do explain the basic stuff, but they do it in a way that doesn't alienate real fans.
