coach, mom, and athlete, do not worry about what creatures on this board say. One or another attacks virtually everyone of note in the sport. Whatever the problem at Oregon was, a conflict of personalities or whatever, we're talking about a national champion, who ran 10.92, set an UO school record in the long jump, and made world's. She scored 35 pts in one meet for Oregon. She was a great athlete on the team and if she'd been healthy and competing all this season through nationals, the competition would have been very different. When there are injuries and performances aren't up to their own high standard, problems crop up, but I have no doubt that they will be corrected and I would not be surprised to see her on the World's team next year once again. Good luck and ignore 99% of what is said on these boards!

An argument can be made that Oregon fans and boosters are due some sort of explanation.
Others are simply curious. In cases like this, saying nothing says volumes and leads to rampant rumor mongering and speculation.
If there is some non sensational reason she left, just come out with it and put the rumors to bed.
I'm glad to see Goe at least acknowledge that it's a very bizarre circumstance and confirm that her and her former coaches have lockjaw on the issue.

But then 8 weeks! later someone decides her agreement with the prof isn't legit and she fails the class and, I presume, is left a few credits shy of graduating. Harsh. And was she taking post-grad classes in the spring allowing her to compete I wonder.

Actually, you haven't seen the syllabus so you really don't know if it was a joke of a class or not. There could have been many assignments, papers, online lectures etc. So you cannot say with 100% accuracy that it was an easy class.
I don't understand the logic of a Thurs - Sat online class. Why not just make it weekly? Online classes are supposed to be for people with busy schedules. In Todd's case she couldn't get stuff done bc of "competition and travelling", but some people actually have even more legitimate reasons such as childcare, jobs, etc. I hope Oregon takes a look at this policy.
Ok so you are going to assume that scientific racism is a hard class and that is why oregon put one of their top athletes in, in order to keep her eligible when she was in danger of not being eligible? What do you think is the most likely scenario a Power Five school would do, A put her in really hard class or B put her in a really easy online class? So although can not guarantee it is an easy class a rational person can determine it is highly probable that it s a joke of a class filled with athletes.

Also listed under Anthropology 278, sounds like a eugenics course, probably need a very strong background in Biology, Math (especially Statistics) Chemistry.
Yes it sounds like a VERY hard class, especially since it is a very taboo subject and if the students research indicate things that are politically incorrect even if all the data indicates it is true, can get the student in trouble, like it got Dr. Jensen and Charles Murray, being that Athletes are high profile (Yes Track Athletes would become very high profile if their paper indicates something people disagree with on this very delicate subject), my guess is coaches tell their athletes to avoid the class like the plague, props to Jasmine Todd for taking the class in spite of the dangers politically and socially the subject can get you in regardless if it is intellectually correct or not.
