Agree with all the above and I'm a lifetime follower and participant of T&F. I had the opportunity to go to six of the last World Champs but just didn't have confidence that what I would be seeing wouldn't be drug tainted. Glad now I didn't spend the dollars.

You can see the glass as half full or half empty; I see it as half full. Track & field is the cleanest it has been in decades and high profile bust are the manifestation of the cleaning process. Every time a doper is caught, that's one lest doper and perhaps a few more who will either not dope or stop doping knowing there is a possibility of getting caught.

Nonsense. The best performances often look almost effortless. Was Ovett on drugs? Cram?

"Effortlessness" only looks damning when the athlete was previously an also ran, like Ramzi. Otherwise it means nothing. Bekele, Kiprop, Dibaba, these people look wonderful and effortless winning world titles, sure, but they are also supremely smooth movers; some runners look smooth whether they're winning or not. And someone's got to be the best. We've no idea who's cheating*, accept that you haven't got magical insight.

*Russian racewalkers excepted.

Totally incorrect. They should be dying, because at the end they should be using all of their energy systems, including anaerobic lactic and alactic, and consuming every bit right to the line.

just to be factual, armstrong did test positive - several times, apparently

but that doesn't exactly help my argument since the IAAF appears to be as bad as the cycling weenies who let armstrong off after those positive tests.

but to the point again, I think saying 100% of medalists are dopers is not in the realm of argument given the facts that we have. Using the 100% numebr when so few medalists have been caught is not acceptable to me.
