I'm not a "hater" for feeling taken for a ride. I think what's best for the sport is that we maintain a burden of proof. I'm not going to label someone a drug cheat without it. I trust that eventually if Galen has been doping then it will come out.

The burden of proof, though, goes for not just doping claims, but claims against USATF and Nike. AND EVERYONE. I am so tired of biased unsubstantiated passive aggressive statements getting treated as fact. It's hearsay, at best and it's unnecessary, at best. Tell us what happened or don't say anything.

I appreciate Kara's investment in the sport and tweeted her that as soon as I read the first ProPublica piece. In no way am I asserting that she's a liar nor that she's lied.

But even if my husband said, "People were threatened," or "I have proof of illicit activity," my first response would be "Oh really, WHAT HAPPENED?"

If Salazar made such claims against Kara without backing them up or explaining them then I would be on that forum asking similar questions.

Now who's delusional? This statement is clearly a way for Kara to place the full burden on USADA so that when nothing comes out of the case she can say, "Well I did my part. The rest was up to them."

The USADA did not "catch" Lance. Most of the case against Lance was developed by the FDA, which has real legal powers. The FDA investigators shared their results with the USADA. Everyone seems to forget that the USADA is a private organization, not a government agency. This means that when it investigates, it cannot use many of the tools used by the police or the FBI, such as subpoenas or search warrants.

One of the powers the USADA lacks is the power to take sworn testimony. The USADA only swears witnesses in during arbitration. Arbitration only occurs after an athlete or coach has been found guilty of doping and suspended. In other words, there is not testifying under oath during the investigations. As a result, nobody can be punished for lying under oath during a USADA investigation. .

The lack of an oath means that Goucher's challenge to everyone to give evidence to the USADA under oath is meaningless. The USADA simply does not have the power to take sworn testimony.

If someone like Goucher, who has talked to the USADA at some length is confused about how USADA works, it's not surprising that mere mortals are confused, too.
