It seems like your heroes are taking Testosterone.

Testosterone isn't expressly illegal and athletes who sleep just fine doping take advantage of it. Every sports federation knows this. Too much Test is crossing the 4:1 ratio. That triggers the check for exogenous Test. Failing that test is failing an IQ test because 4:1 is way, way, waaaay out of the norm. Normal is about 1:1.

This scandal should make it clear the federations and the IOC are perfectly okay with doping. Just bring the sponsorship revenue and/or eyeballs along with the dope.

The link that says Ritz does not provide any evidence at all that he was using either. It mentions two Schumacher runners, also without providing any evidence that they were using either product.

You're all stumbling around the real issue but not quite getting there.

15 to 16 is the lifetime peak age for testosterone levels because of the rapid growth. Growth plates fuse soon after and levels drop dramatically (nearly 25%) by age 19. Meddling with the endocrine system during this growth phase - who knows what lifelong consequences it might have? It may be legal now, but it shouldn't be.

Any coach who does this should be as embarrassed as blood dopers are about their legal pre-1985 blood doping. It may be legal, but it's not ethical.

You can test for it if you know what they're up to, and we know now. That's why I raised the question several days ago with Victor Conte as to whether it's possible to test for microdosing testosterone with CIR, and it is, and so those of us fighting for #cleansport are trying to convince WADA to open the frozen samples of Rupp and Farah and test them. If they do this, the roof is going to fall in on Salazar Slytherin, and the question will be how far up the Nike management chain does knowledge or conspiracy go (read: can be proven in court). From the testimony in the BBC documentary, we seem to know that the chief physiologist at the Nike Lab know that Salazar was doing testosterone.

Of course. However, that is irrelevant. Galen Rupp can't sue the BBC in U.S. courts, but he can go after the U.S. citizen who released it because it is visible here, which means it potentially constitutes the same harm as if it were on a server here. Also, he could potentially go after any U.S. group that copied the information and made it visible. These violate the U.S. HIPAA law.

Depending on what the medical privacy laws are in the UK, he might also be able to go after the BBC in UK courts.

Wrong, the document shows illegal drug use. And it was created by someone who is not a regular doctor. Rupp cannot sue anyone.

None of prednisone, Testoboost or testosterone are illegal.

Whether the document shows evidence of doping violations is another matter and subject to opinion. If you believe that the Nike lab tech meant his "testosterone medication" to be exogenous testosterone then you believe Rupp was doping. If you believe "testosterone medication" could reasonably include supplements like Testoboost then you believe there is substantial reasonable doubt to think Rupp wasn't doping.

By all accounts WADA has had this photo for about three years and Rupp hasn't been sanctioned....so my conclusion is that they have some doubts themselves.

illegal (or illicit) use of medications for reasons other than treating illness =/= healthcare, ergo this whole "HIPAA" discussion is a smokescreen and a red herring by the NOPers.

Testosterone (Androgel or others) is a prescription only medication. If Rupp was taking it without prescription then it was illegal. If a medical professional prescribed it to him for purposes other than treating a medical condition, then that also is illegal (same with prednisone).

Rupp is not a medical patient who using illegal substances with the intent of solving the use of the illegal substances, or giving his employer reason to fire him. Rather the testing chart --it is not a medical chart-- was used to determine if Rupp's usage values would draw the concern of a real medical professional, or in this case a drug tester.
