Running is an individual sport. Soccer isn't. Bad analogy.

This is how I took it as well. Cheserek wasn't really saying that he could have won but threw Jenkins a bone; he was saying that when he saw that it was his teammate, that was enough and wasn't willing to dig any deeper.

We are talking about Ches here. If he were racing only for himself, he would not have been worried about being in front of Campbell or Jenkins until the last 40m. His acceleration is so much better, he would have believed his only strategy was to be the last to kick.

I'm sure in the race, Ches thought he was going to do both. Break Campbell and somehow beat Jenkins and we saw that he can't do that with a 2:19 1k in his legs. However, there is no question that if he wasn't running for team points, he was tired enough that he wouldn't have gone until 40m to go.

What on earth makes you think he would have done that? Ches goes with 200-300 to go in all of his races and to my knowledge he has NEVER waited until the final 40m.

He wouldn't have done a single thing differently with the POSSIBLE exception of the final 40m where he MAYBE let Jenkins go by him.

If Ches was going all-out, he would have windmilled his arms like he did against Lawi.

2) I never made an analogy. I merely pointed out that the analogy the person I replied to made wasn't analogous.

3) I never said Eric let Ed win. He didn't. Ed did.

Rupp is #2 (behind Lagat), for 3000m with Both Teg and Solinsky over 4 seconds bend; #2 (behind Teg) for 2 mile by .34 sec; #10 in 5000m (3.37 behind Solinsky and .34 behind Teg); #1 10,000m (15.34,yes over 15 seconds better than Solinsky - who gives a sh!t that Solinsky beat Rupp in one particular race, and over 44 seconds faster than Teg).

I got nothing against Solinsky or Teg but there's no way by virtue of their actual best times that there's anything question that Rupp Is superior.

What's to debate here???
