If Lagat cheated so many years ago, and testing has improved significantly since, and the number of banned items have increased, then why has Lagat never had another tainted test sample? He has passed every single test since while setting records.

By the way, the results of an A sample are proprietary until the B sample is tested to confirm the results. So, who was it who intentionally released the bogus A sample results?

El Guerrouj has a faster 1500m, mile, 2000m, 3000m, & 5000m PR. He could have run much faster at 800m too if he gave a damn about it.

Similarly, Farah is faster at 1500m, 5000m, 10,000m. He obviously could run much faster than choge's 3000m PR. Choge maybe has him at 800, but Mo has a sub 26:50 10k PR. Never mind 2:08 marathon ability.

I start realising how you get to your conclusion: you have ADDED the times? Well, than you really will get what you want, that Augustine Choge has the best combination of PBs from 800m to 5000m. But - what should I say - adding the times isn't a very clever thing.

You are listing Choges times (missing the 1000m, 1 Mile, 2000m and 2 Miles) to explain something, but don't list Aouita's times for comparison? Well, a true wigins.

Aouita is a full second faster over 800m (0,95% advantage) and 1/100 over 1500m. This alone is enough to outwight Choge's 4,73 plus over 5000m (0,61% advantage) (*) (and also his 1,46 plus over 3000m). And there we havn't looked at Aouita's over 2,5s plus in the 1000m, 3,5s plus in the Mile, 5,5s plus in the 2000m. I know you will not accept it, and still claim that 1+1=3.

You are almost on a par with the oldman^3 now. But it's OK. Also, continously changing the subject doesn't make look you any better. The concept of arguing about something seems to be beyond you.

(*) The better %-advantage alone isn't enough for me to be convinced that Aouita's times are better, since the 5000m times of them might be a little better than there 800m times, but 0,95 against 0,61 easily outwights this.

And now, go on and look for the next thread where you find an opportunity to write that Augustine Choge is the GOAT (in what ever category) and will easily ran a Marathon in sub 2:02 (if he just wants to do so). I just don't get it what's your benefit if this laughable stupidity.

I think I also have told you already that Noureddine Morceli also has PBs from 800m to 5000m which probably are "better" than Choge's. He is faster over 800m and much faster over 1000m, 1500m, 1 Mile, 2000m, 3000m. Choge has this 10s plus over 5000m and I definitely accept that it's open for some discussion, which sequence of marks is "better", since for just the 800m and 5000m, Choge has a better combination.

Well, maybe you have never heard, therefore I will tell you: Morceli also was Olympic champ. 3 times World outdoor and 1 times World indoor champ. He has set 7 World Records. Was almost "unbeatable" in several seasons. But what is this compared to a Gold from Choge at the Commonwealth games and a Silver at the World indoors. And we should not forget that Choge was a member of the team which has broken the long standing 4x1500m World Record. Clearly much better credentials than those of Noureddine Morceli.

But maybe you are really a relative of old venty. This would explain a lot.

a typical coach li/lagat everyday aerobic session (no workout) at reasonable pace is a 10 miler in roughly 54mins, so the average of each mile is more or less about 90s slower than his mile-PB.

just to compare it: a typical hobby runner with a mile-PB of 5:00 has to do a 10 miler in no more than 65mins. that´s quite painful, especially as the "time on feet" is longer.

It's not a pointless statistic. Its point is to combat the blowhards that say that Rupp is in low 12:4x shape, that Rupp is the best US 5000m runner, that Rupp will break the 5000m AR, etc.

Actually Aouita tops that... 1:43 bronze and 13:07 gold. World championship hardware to boot. Aouita also ran 27:10 or something around there. Augustine might as well get on his knees and start blowing the king.
