I did Badwater a few years back and I felt that it was much more of an "expedition" than a run. I'm not particularly fast, and I assume most of the people in the race weren't either. However, most of them are probably stubborn with a good ability to be very physically uncomfortable for a period of time.

lol, yes I got a buckle. It's in a cardboard box in the basement. My wife and parents are the only people who've ever seen it!
