Bump for what? What do you want to know?
Anyone use flats with Superfeet or other orthotics? I don't really need much cushioning but I do like a little arch support
i've been running in some pairs of saucony A5's with Superfeet Carbon insoles. It works well. There's a little less cusion now than with the regular insoles, but the Carbon version doesn't have much (if any) heel lift. They're lower volume than the other Superfeet products. It's a good combination, I think.
What are some of the best flats out there? Streak Lt's?
I'm still waiting to see some mileage and pr's of people who run in flats. I'd really like to know

I'm curious why you would want to know. Do you feel like it would hold less credence if the flats runners aren't fast? Just generally curious?
No, I just want to see how many people can maintain high mileage in flats. I'm training in them as well, I just want to see how we all compare.
Well I'm a scrub by LRC standards so everyone will discount my contributions now.
Started in flats in high school. Ran 1:57/4:30 in HS on 65mpw or so. Tried to move up to be a distance runner a bunch of times but wasn't in my skillset. Ran 80-90mpw most of college with some weeks over 100 here or there and got down to 1:53/3:55. Nothing too exciting. My over distances were pretty ugly (8:48 3k, 15:22 5k).
I've still not found any running shoes that don't hurt my feet.
However I'm having a very comfortable time running barefoot.
I just used a pair of Saucony Type A6s for track this year, which worked out fine. I'm using Adidas Boston Boosts now, are they considered flats? I really like how they feel & how they did the cushioning but I feel like the heel is too high and would prefer a little less cushion. So something like an Adios but with a lower heel. Any recommendations?
Try Lunaracers. I use streak lt's and Lunaracers. Lunaracers for when my legs feel really trashed.

I've run only in flats since 2010. Almost all in Streak 3s, but recently started mixing in Streak 5s and Brooks T7s. Graduated college in 2011. Mileage has dropped from 80s to 50-60s since then. PRs 15:20 1:12:30

Are there any pros/ college elites who train in flats? Someone earlier in the thread mentioned it. If so, who?
The Japanese pretty much all train in flats. Harry Summers of Australia uses Vibrams. In the past you had Anne Audain and Jack Foster doing it but it's unusual now.
I've so far had the most success rotating between flats, lightweight trainers and cushioned trainers. I don't use particular shoes for specific workouts but wear specific type of shoes depending how my body is feeling. There are pros and cons with each type of shoes which can lead to some sort of overuse injuries and rotating has worked out the best. Also, big believer of adidas boost mid soles. I really believe they are game changers and wear adios, Boston, and ultra boost that I rotate.

I'm a 14:40 guy who runs exclusively in flats.
Flyknit Racer. I bought them first and foremost because I think they look awesome. I know that's not a good reason, but I did it. I'm 5'8, 125 lbs and anything else feels like overkill. I haven't noticed any extra soreness, and definitely no injuries.
Previously I trained in the Lunarracer and LT2. Will be sticking with the Racer as long as it lasts.
