Yes I agree. It was a very good coverage and they gave equal coverage to the German runners and the international runners.Are the two Hahn girls twins. I am glad this particular station was able to cover the marathon and stream it across the world. Fantastic.
agree to some extent. However, splits were not given very often (compared to Berlin stream) and so it could've been better.
Yes I had to keep a careful watch as they went through the gates but still I am thankful they covered it. The attendance for this marathon keeps going up and up so its not just the stars but everyone that competes and I think the station did a good job in balancing the coverage. Some splits would have been nice for sure.

I haven't seen the race but keep in mind that Frankfurt is the only major airport in Germany. Yes there are airports in Munich, Hamburg and Berlin (well...) but they are considered regional at best, when compared with US airports.

Not sure this has anything to do with "going green". But I can see that it is much easier to comment or even interview from a bicycle than from a loud motorcycle.

My criticism would be the lack of coverage of the front-end of the women's race - i don't know if it was a lack of interest or a question of not enough camera crews, but coverage only started in ernest after the first men had finished. Admittedly, the mens race was much more exciting this time, with lots of changes in pace, but still I would have appreciated some updates about the situation in the women's race earlier on.
Still, nice to see a full broadcast of a marathon on TV and online - no commercial breaks either, and all for free.

People should consider that HR (Hessian Broadcasting) is a regional broadcaster. So it is understandable that they was a focus on their "local heroes" (both Sören Kah and Lisa Hahner are from Hesse), especially after the world record was out of reach.

Yes - but their name is Hahner, and they are not to be confused with Olympic marathoner Susanne Hahn.
I hope that Germany will send a team to the World Champs 2013 so that we can see the twins running in the same race.

what do you expect from someone who can't figure out how time zones work?
I ran the race and thought I should share the race conditions, course, etc.
Start was cold. Signs around the area said 1 degree. But after about 5K i was fine with singlet, shorts, and gloves. A few time out there I actually got a little warm. Not sure if the Africans are more adverse to the cold and scrapped the WR plan before the race even started or were never able to get on pace. There was also a solid wind. Randomly throughout the city there would be open squares and we would get blasted with circle winds. It definitely built during the race and the last 10-15K had periods of stiff head and cross wind. BroJos kept saying no winds. All the forecasts over here said 15mph and that's what happened. Course is surprisingly twisty and had a bunch of sections of cobbles. Not totally flat and I think Berlin is a fastest course overall. I obviously didn't watch the race online and didn't see the front of the race. It was evident out there that a WR would be almost impossible considering the conditions but was shocked to see 2:06
