maybe someone more relevant to today. Paris HIlton is so early 2000. Perhaps one of the Olsen twins. They're still on trend and have a billionaire dollar company/brand which sounds like Nick is envious of. They are still admired in the tabloids as well (fame for Nick). I don't think Miss Hiltons ruffles and bark clothing line is doing so hot these days. Just a thought...

God forbid a mid or distance runner breaks the mold of effeminate, bland, boring skinny guy. Nick Symmonds is great for USA Track & Field because he's got something most other runners lack - a personality.
Nothing against Christians, but this whole squeaky clean God-fearing runner schtick is tiresome and unmarketable. Symmonds is a star in the making, and more importantly, understands how the business world works.
Good for him, and shame on all of you for judging him without knowing him personally.

This is actually a brilliant publicity move for Nick. Honestly, I'd guess that he's probably not that interested in her and realizes that she's probably not interested in dating pretty much any track athlete, but this gets him a ton of publicity no matter how it turns out. Yeah, he's cocky, and yeah, he's kind of a douche, but he's apparently pretty smart about getting his name out there.

It ceases to amaze me how people can be such condescending assh@les on this board when a person does not follow their specific social constructs. To the father, sorry to say but in some part of the worlds you're daughter is considered a wh@re and the type of girl a father would not want his son to be associated with for not covering every inch of her body. In other cultures and religions, promiscuity and "free love" is readily encouraged. I am not going to argue one is better than the other. I am going to say some respect for other peoples outlooks on life is deserving, especially when you know very little about their life circumstances and who they actually are as a person. I am not a promiscuous person but I am not going to knock Symmonds if that is what he goes around and does especially if he is not deceptive about it.
I do know I have more respect for an alcolohic drug addicted prostitute I once met working at a food bank and who eventually passed away as a result of her alcoholism than I do for a large percentage of people posting on this board who will readily go around throwing a person's name in the dirt when they know very little about the person's life circumstances and how they actually treat people.
