The trails around Boulder aren't so soft (it's what drove Ritz to Oregon), his recruiting classes are good but far from the best, and altitude doesn't afford him the advantage of having his team churn intervals at the same pace as sea level guys who are "race ready." The same logic could be applied to BYU and UNM, but you don't see them as consistent top three teams, sometimes atop the podium.
