Good argument!!
They had the WR from 1964 until Noah Ngeny; Coe`s last WR is just 22/100 slower than Ngeny`s.
I forgot to mention the great Miler Rudolf Harbig. He hasn`t lost a 1500m/Mile in his whole career!
what part of
"none of those guys are the 1km wr holder"
does your numbskull not comprehend ??
Marcel Hansenne also was a true Miler who just by mistake won all his medals over 800m.
so ?
what does that have to do with the 1km wr holder ??

You really don`t get it? Hard to believe...
moron
how much of a peabrain do you have if you can't understand the ramifications of :
the 1km wr holder is a miler
???

I see your point. The fact that almost all the 1000m WR holders in history are 800m specialist/had 800m as their main distance truly leads to the conclusion that the 1k WR holder is a miler. This is so obvious that it`s not worth any discusion.
I`m not as fast as you, but now even I got it.
moron
try again if your numbskull allows you
I might guess seb coe was honest too. Ngeny I bet was gassed up! Who knows
You bring a unique contribution to the board, vent. It's a shame you're such an ass.
Ventolin, you keep repeating "the 1km record holder is a miler."
So what? Of course he is. He's also an 800 meter runner. Are you mentally retarded?
I suppose if Rudisha ran 2:11.95, which he is capable of, then would that justify some moron saying "the 1km record holder is an 800 meter runner." Well, it might be a true statement, but so what? I suppose if Rudisha ran 3:31 like Kaki did the other day, and also ran 2:11.95, then Rudisha would be the 1km record holder and an 800 meter runner and a miler/1500 meter runner.
Of course the 1km record holder is a miler. This is inevitable. He is also an 800 meter runner. So what? The fact that the 1km record holder is going to be an 800 meter and/or a miler is self evident. We don't need you pointing out the obvious.
It's like saying the 3000 meter record holder is a 5000 meter man. Of course he is. He's also a miler...BFD. Are you that stupid?

Do you understand that some runners have a primary event and a secondary event? What ventolin is saying, is that the greatest 1000 meter runner we've seen is a miler first, and an 800 runner second. For Rudisha, if he did run 3:31 and broke the 1000m record, that would mean he's an 800 meter runner first, and a miler second. Is it really that hard to understand?
And to Said88, there's a difference between former world record holders and current world record holders. The difference being that the current world record holders are the best and do things in a better way than the former world record holders did.

Please tell me something I don't know if you're going to act like you're doing so. You too are stating the obvious. So what? Everybody knows this. So what?

It means that it's something we can agree on. I have no idea why said88 is even debating such an obvious statement. However, the examples you brought up do not fit the statement that ventolin is describing. Just running the mile doesn't make you a miler. However, if you are less than half a second off a world record, or you are the world record holder, then I guess you can call that your primary event. It appears that you agree with ventolin, but need to bring up something pointless just to start an argument.
The obvious point is that if you can run 1000 meters faster than anybody in history, we ALL know that you are extremely good at 800 meters and extremely good at 1500 meters. This is so obvious that it is insulting to have to hear it...
It means that El G could have run the 1000m world record jackass. The WR holder's 800 PR is something El G could smash, so 800 prs are pretty irrelevent in this discussion.

No, it doesn't. You certainly are living up to your name, stupid mofo.
1000m record holder it is pointed out statistics wise is a miler.
the exception is rudolf harbig who had world records 46.0 1:46.6 and 2:21. 400-800-1k, plus 10.6 and 21.5 100m and 200m. i speculate harbig was really good for 1:45 flat and kind of hung on for that 1000m record?
from a common sense point of view, say are we at going through 400m in 51-52 and then 800m in 52-53 sec? to continue 200m more at pace, obviously, we have to have tremendous aerobic ability.
that's when the 800-1500 type rules.
and the 400-800 type is done. actually this sort is usually half baked at 600m and is running on fumes by 700m.
the exception is alberto-j. who should have been a 141 guy,
1:40 low with excellent drafting to 550m and 1:40 flat with the perfect setup to 600+meters.
coe in the wr only drafted 300m or so.
proper drafting requires paying a 1:43 - 800m(current) guy to set this up, as we want rabbit @ 48.8 (400) and 1:13.8 at 600.
