The physics in Back to the Future doesn't work either. How do you convert plutonium into electrical energy? You'd have to have a tiny nuclear reactor in the car. And as far as I know, a nuclear reactor would not generate a burst of 1.21 gigawatts. You'd need some kind of energy storage device.
Any nuclear physicists believe this power source is even theoretically possible? Or were the writers of Back to the Future just making sh!t up?
I liked Satan's Alley overall and I know there have always been gay people but the way they handled the gay angle was completely anachronistic. That's just not the way people looked at it in the middle ages. Also, Tobey Maguire is a likeable actor but I just didn't believe him a medieval monk. Brokeback Mountain was kind of dorky in places but it was more believable.

There is no conceivable reason that Rocky is able to defeat Mr. T or the Russian, who are both supposed to be legitimately great boxers. Unless something magical has happened, he's still just a club level boxer who got lucky and benefited from a few fights that were set up.
It's kind of like having a movie where some random 16 minute 5k guy races Lagat and beats him because Lagat thinks it's all a joke and doesn't run a step for a few months before the race and gives up a big lead early on thinking that he's just going to jog for a while and then win easy with a big kick. But then you make a sequel where the random 16 minute 5k guy somehow keeps beating the best in the world even when the competition is taking things seriously and giving the race their full effort.
It's a movie, man! Geez!
In "The International", there's a 40 minute shoot-out in the Guggenheim Museum but the police only show up after Clive Owen has escaped.
In reality, if you illegally cycled on the sidewalk outside the Guggenheim, about 5 squad cars would show up within 5 minutes.

I the movie "Unstoppable" the cops try to shoot the emergency fuel shut off switch as the train speed by. Many automatic rifles are used and they spray the locomotive with gunfire. The fuel tank would have been riddled with holes, the fuel drained and the train stopped. Being that is based on a true story, I am not sure what to make of it.
So I cannot remember which one it is, but in one of the movies, Aragorn has the dead ghosts help him win the battle.
Those guys just crush through the orcs like butter. I always felt like that was too much like a Deus ex Machina.
Does that happen in the book too?
Also, it just seems like Gandolf could do everything by himself rather easily. Why does Frodo have to do it?
I guess I need to watch them again.

How is it a plot hole if it's the whole point of the movie? Clarence would be an idiot if he did tell George that Potter had the money. Clarence's whole job was to make George see that life was worth living, which was far bigger than the $8,000. Had Clarence told George about Potter and the money, George would have taken back the money, felt better for a few days, and then been back in the rut he had gotten stuck in.

On the subject of time-travel movies, I thought "Butterfly Effect" was fantastic! Creepy as hell though.

You need to watch both endings to Butterfly Effect. The original ending (not the one shown in the theatres) is pretty wild.
In "Rookie of the Year", Henry loses his ability to throw blazing fast fastballs during the game in which the Cubs clinch the NLCS. Chet Steadman (Gary Busey), the washed-up oldtimer, is no longer an effective pitcher by this point in the movie. The rest of the pitching staff are awful, hence the Cubs' losing ways prior to Henry joining the team. Yet somehow, despite all this, at the very end of the movie Henry and Chet have World Series rings. So who pitched for the Cubs during the World Series? If their top two pitchers are out, and everyone else is terrible, how did they win the series?
Scorcher completely ignores basic geology. I know it's a movie and all that but it's like it happens on another planet.

Beneath the Planet of the Apes. How did the mutant humans live near the ape city and not be detected all those years? I realize it was the forbidden zone but they still had to come out to get food in the forrest areas. Also, how did the mutants make their masks and get that atomic bomb in the church?

I'm with you on the first point. It wasn't quite that overdone in the books.
On the second one, it had to do with the temptation of the Ring's power. Gandalf or anybody else wouldn't have been able to withstand. For some reason the Hobbits were more resistant.

When I first read this, I thought the guy was quoting a line from Dumb and Dumber rather than asking a serious question. I mean, his name is Lloyd C. It's been a while since I've seen that movie, but I thought there was a scene where Jim Carrey is wearing a bullet-proof vest and Jeff Daniels asks the cops that same question.

The Matrix 2 and 3. The dude was able to stop bullets with his mind, why couldn't he do the same in the next two movies? Sorry if this has been said, 6 pages is beyond my reading capacity.
