The 53 that Alf Shrubb put up was from the 1971 Europeans, in which Juha Vaatainen ran 52.8. He did not say that they ran 53 in the 2006 ISTAF WOMENS 5000.

you clearly didn't watch the paula race where she followed in awe for few miles, expecting the queen to shoot away by the 3 - 4 mile mark

but the lioness had no teeth that day & 3 - 4 mile time was unshocking & kara realising that killed her

the quality of the kill though was so good

paula at some peak ran 65'40 with at least 14'20/29'50 ability at the time ( 2"15 year )

what do you expect a 66'57 gal wouda run for 5k/10k that day ???

I am not sure what she would have run for 10k that day, but I know that course is somewhat downhill, and I know she ran her personal best 14:55 14 days before...

By the way well done on the training program I never realised if you went from running once a day to twice a day you would improve. What a revelation!

I should add to be fair that Malmo's training advice is good
