You fine fellows are debating what is the hardest thing to do in sports. While running a four minute mile may be one of one of the most impressive things to do, it is not the hardest thing to do. If an athlete is talented enough to even come within four minutes, their hunger can ulitmately lead them to the prize. However, there is one task that no matter of talent can get you to, cause its demands too much entirely. That Hardest thing to do in all of sports is simple. It it involves the greatest pastime of all and it has only be done once in the history of the game.
Joe Dimaggio's 56 consectiuve hit streak is the hardest thing to do or break in sports. For the listed reasons:
1.)Every circumstance changes in every game.
2.)You will never face the same pitcher in back to back games, dropping ur likely hood of success down even more. Running the Four minute mile you can train on the same track trying to break the record, try and break the mark on the perfect day for you, most ideally you can try for the mark when it is best for you. For a hitting Streak like Joes you can't set it up so everything is best for you.
3.)No one has even come close to matching the streak. Many athletes fall when they get to even 30, still 26 hits away. While there have been more runners to snatch the four minute mark.
4.)In running its four minutes of pain, for the hit streak it is 56 games of every storyline or trouble you can face.
5.)A person can break a four minute mile when there is only one person watching. However, when hitting a baseball in the MLB the pressure and intestiny is so unbelievably higher. U can break the four minute mile with no cameras or spotlight, while the streak will garner every single spotlight in not only this country but in the world. Pressure is the defination of diffcult.
LOOK I AM NOT RAGGING ON A FOUR MINUTE MILE. IT IS STILL ONE OF THE BEST ACHIEVEMENTS IN SPORTS.However, it is not the hardest.
Also trying hitting a 50 on 18 holes of golf. I think that is also one of the hardest things to do, followed by the Dog Race in Alaska and the Tour de Fance. Thank you, I am out.
