WSJ.com Article on People Running So Much They're Ruining Their Marriages

Seriously bad piece of reporting, I'm sure they could do this same story on any subject just change the activity from running to stamp collecting, skiing, fishing...

That being said any thing taken to extreme can be bad for a marriage, even "positive" things.

Working out, going to church, charity work, so called "workaholics", etc.. It's probably even more difficult to confront a spouse that's (over) engaged in one of these behaviors since the behavior isn't considered "bad" i.e. drinking, drugs, over eating.

What upsets me the most is that people will take this out of context to justify their overeating and sedentary lives. "I was going to start exercising, but, see! exercising is bad for you! It ruins marriages!"

My aunt did something similar with her son (my cousin). He's had weight issues since he was young. She took him to the doctor to ask for advice. He told her that it is not wise to limit his food intake, as he's a growing boy, but that extra care must be taken to ensure that the food he does eat is healthy. She, of course, took that as, "he can eat as much as he likes since he's a growing boy". This has become her chorus as he chows down cake, cookies, chips, and candy all day. "The doctor said it was ok..."...

No, I see your posts and kind of agree with Another Woman, even though she sounds kind of bitchy. You have a weird sense of entitlement about you.

I am not trying to be mean. I think it stemmed from your posts about how women with boobs were disgusting. Now you just sound like no fun at all.

I sent this article to my wife earlier today, we had a few laughs. I do triathlons too, and that breed puts the C in compulsive. 6 hour workouts on the weekends, 18+ hours a week - yeah, I actually know middle agers (like myself) who do this.
