You know you're a hobbyjogger if....
you try to find reasons why you can't be one and condemn anything anybody else does differently...
You know you're an uptight prick if:....
* You feel threatened by those walking marathons,
* You can't stand that people that train less than you get to enter the same races
* You look down at anyone that isn't underweight
* You think that its stupid to have water stops,
* You need to belittle those who qualify for Boston,
* Race shirts are beneath you
* You're upset that everyone doesn't acknowledge how great you are
You've got an extensive pre and post-run stretching routine yet you only run 9 min miles.
"If you can't BQ for a marathon" sounds about right, especially for men under 35.
You drink Michelob Ultra (and assume that Lance does too).

Can we assume you're done with the grammar corrections now?
A few others:
--You actually wear the lipstick that Runners World once reviewed as the best one to wear in a marathon
--You worry about your make-up running or smearing since you may actually sweat
--You wear a running skirt or capris
--You count walking (as when you take a 10 minute break to blab with others) in your overall mileage
--You upload your workouts from your Garmin to your Facebook page
If you have never read or heard about LetsRun.com you just might be a hobbyjogger.
You tell people you were an All-American... without specifying that it was because you snuck in for 6th place at the NAIA championships... even more so if it was in a "off" distance race, like the 600 or 1000.
Ahh, the elitism of the letsrun posters...while there are some amusing and valid points here (The Penguin is absurd, but let's be honest, that's about fitness, not running), let's be honest--if it weren't for hobby joggers, the entire running industry would barely exist. There'd be no money for elites. My guess is that this website would be toast (look at the advertising--do you really think the target for Ryan Hall's Nissan ads are sub 5 minute 10kers? Really?)
Nothing wrong with hobbyjoggers, they pay the bills. Just don't line up in the wrong place in the corral or I'll run over your ass. It's kind of like this: I really doubt that professional baseball players care about the all the folks that are in slow-pitch softball leagues on the weekends. It's a different sport. It would become a problem if they strolled onto field during batting practice and expected to take a few cuts.
You must mean "presume." Are all of you done fucking up? I'd bet not, many of you are too stupid to help it.

You missed the word "and" in the original statement, Willy Freddie. I can't even give that a "nice try" because it wasn't.

You got a problem with elitism?
As for the running industry, big deal.
assume: to take as granted or true, to suppose
This is an acceptable use of the word. You are a hypercorrecting pedant.
then why bring up 10k pace douchetits?
Paula Radcliffe 5k pace 4:39
Paula Radcliffe Marathon pace 5:09
Khalid Khannouchi 5k pace 4:25
Khalid Khannouchi Marathon pace 4:47
Oh well.

Ew, seriously? Is that your attempt at a grammatically correct sentence?
