I'm still in shock over Dyestat's death. I suppose tracktalk will fulfill my needs and this merger with Runnerspace sounds promising. I even tried trolling Runnersworld, but got bored after a day. Letsrun is alright, just kind of unorganized and the forum is really basic. Also, too many shitty posters here.
It is sad that so many other sports like Golf, Tennis and Baseball have been able to create a career opportunities for unique talents. In the running field --- not so much.
The problem is that there has not been anyone who has stepped up since Prefontaine and Shorter to make this a business rather than a hobby. Most of us will always think of running as a hobby, but just like football fans ... we will support our team.
We have extra Linux server resources for the non-profit volunteer interest. I only work part/time. You are manage yourself ?

If you continue the board in some other form using flotrack or runnerspace's servers you just end up working for Trust Fund Boarding School Alums for free. so just be happy with letsrun, or the aforementioned, and use the time to train. there are millions of forums and social websites today. it's saturated to the brim. if you still have to do it yourself, then don't quit you day job ;-)

Few of the old timers who started 10 years ago are still around. Those that are have accumulated a massive verifiable following of viewers and thus can get credentials at NCAA, USATF, IAAF meets. It's hard for newbies to break in unless they have trust funds or are retired older fellas with plenty of time on their hands.
