im 90% sure youre just writing these idiotic posts just to get a rise out of people but ill bite for now...
if you dont think that german was going to place in at least the top 15 before suffering a freak, instantaneous injury you are out of your mind and have no idea of what the race actually looked like...every single observer said German looked poised to move to the lead of the chase pack with a mile to go before his achilles gave, and his performances earlier in the season had him placed about 3rd (along with beating the 5th and 7th placers twice later that season)
Germans achilles holds up, he finishes in the top 15, OSU gets 3rd or 4th at worst...so quite with using 8th as a correct barometer of their fitness without qualification because it makes you sound ignorant
and also, telling an athlete not to lead in a championship race with proven kickers on a windy day is not terrible coaching, its really common sense...German disobeyed and it worked out, but that doesnt make what smith said dumb...it just makes what german did also not dumb...
you however, remain dumb
in all likelihood i have been trolled
every single observer said German looked poised to move to the lead of the chase pack with a mile to go before his achilles gave
The purpose of the race is to see who gets to the finishline first, not to see who falls on the ground and might have done better.

OSU was 8th place in the race.

Get off of here, Smith!

Troll.
Please don't anyone respond. Enough is enough.
Good day.
Well it looks like to replace TrackShark in listing all the trackmeets is this site here: http://www.prtrack.net . This weekend seems to be the big college opener weekend so we should see a lot of times, good and bad..
It doesn't include all of the conference XC championships on that site though. I couldn't find 2 conferences on that schedule (Heptagonals and Atlantic-10). It does have a good schedule, but not all of the meets.

You will see. They will run the same way this fall, holding back every race, not developing through their training, failing to come up to expecations in the final, the same that they ran ALL last fall, and the same that they finished in November.
I saw the Atlantic 10 on there. And the list my not be perfect but it beats anything else since the days of trackshark.
I find it amusing that all of you actually believe that German hurt his achilles during Cross Nats. Numerous inside sources, including Dave Smith, said the kid just folded under the immense pressure he was under. Expected to get top 3, but also told to chill around 25th and then move up...that would put a hulluva lot of pressure on anyone, especially a freshman.
He pulled it together after that, but the kid was just nervous and gave up. Simple as that. It is highly unlikely that will ever happen again, seeing as how well he responded indoors and outdoors, but its what happened.
Either way, OSU is still the "hands down" favorite this year, with Stanford, Wisconsin, Oregon, and Iona fighting for that #2 ranking.

are you kidding me?
never once has dave smith said that and your idiot teammate who runs a 15:30 5000 is not an "inside source"
when will you conspiracy theorists give up on this?
German had an AWFULLY quick recovery fo an achilles problem very quick
Ed Eyestone has had a team at NCAA's every year since he took over at BYU.
They will be back in 09.
with 5 returning sub 1410 5k guys, 3 sub 9 steeplers, and always a few guys off their missions, they will be in the battle for a top 10 spot.
leaving them out of the top 20 is always the case, but they finish above their rank almost every year
GO COUGARS!
Actually Georgetown is returning six of its top seven as Banks was awarded a medical redshirt. He was their third runner at NCs last fall.

They have them both on there now. They weren't on there when I first posted. I guess they are still building the site up. Maybe we should start posting in their forums? lol.
Yea, it seems like there site is still developing, and has other stuff to offer besides running. I thinking about signing up to check it out.

wisco for top two.who does indiana state have???
Annoying alumni. Apart from that, no good runners to speak of.
1. OSU
2. Oregon
3. Wisconsin
With Oregon losing it's top 2, and OSU gaining some fast runners, like Girma, as well as some redshirted guys, it's hard to deny them a top 2 spot.
German, Kosgei, Vail, Lowe, Girma, Prentice, etc. Solid squad we have there.
It would take an unreasonably good set of performances from freshmen and RS freshmen and milers to get close to this; it might be the weakest team in a decade or more. I will get a peak in four hours.

Stanford only seventh? Are you serious??? They return American Junior record holder Chris Derrick who should be top 5 individually, and also Heath and Riley. That is an awesome top three. If another one of there big recruits like Havel can step up, they should be challenging for the win come November. Why you have them only ranked 7th is beyond me.

Umm, let me try to explain this... oh nevermind.
