That is bloody nonsense.
Of course the tests should be done properly. Doing them quietly behind doors would cause coverups and perhaps no tests at all. The whole situation needs to be totally public and above any suspicions or conjecture. Getting rid of the witch trials, midnight hangings and bringing out the truth will do much to restore empathy, but that will not be done by covering everything up.
After seeing all of this history, and the obvious current events, Caster should not be allowed to run in the final.
If the circumstances are sorted differently in the future, which I seriously doubt, then so be it. What we have here is the true condition of one person, for which there has been an unresolved history, vs the entire spectrum of all women's competition and performances.
The current situation should not be allowed to proceed.

Ok, that just cracked me up.
Regardless, this is kind of fascinating. While at first glance she sure as hell looks like a dude, I wonder how much culture plays a part in that. Not the masculinity, but the not noticing. As someone noted, she's from a rural town. I can't imagine she has access to a good waxer, nor would she be held to a western standard in terms of looks. She's also young and to have the world questioning your gender has got to feel...well, not good.
I don't know what to think. If she is actually a he, then good riddance. If she is a victim of scrutiny that turns out to be unfounded? Well, that's just kind of sad.

Semenya will not run a WR. If Semenya runs a WR then the heat will really be on IAAF and South Africa to come clean. Semenya will be directed to just keep pace and kick at the end. 1:57.25
