it is possible to win all three (800, mile, 5k). the chick from wisc. platteville won the 800, mile, and set a national record in the dmr last year. she is going to do the same thing this year.

There is no rule prohibiting DIII Indoor National Championships from being hosted on a banked track. No school has ever put forward a bid to host on a banked track. I am sure it would cause some concern from coaches, but there is definitely no rule.
why would it cause concern? New york is too expensive for any track division to host a national meet... plain and simple...
NYU hosted the Northeast Region this year and did a phenomenal job. I dont see why nationals would be problem. Everyone actually stayed in jersey since its closer to vcp. Same would apply for the armory
prediction: after an incredibly disappointing cross nationals, jed will come back to pull the semi-upset in the 5k in 14:38
also, i thought finnegan graduated last year, but he's on the 5k list. does he only have indoor eligibility or outdoor too?
NCAA's were in New York a few years ago for outdoors weren't they? I think it'd be a cool idea to hold the D3 meet in Boston like they did with the D2 meet a few years back. Also I always thought that Calvin never participated in the indoor season? If I am not mistaken this is the first time I have seen a member of their team on the indoor performance list yet they are always up there when it comes outdoors. Maybe I am wrong.
2003 Outdoor DIII Nats were held at St. Lawrence U, in Canton New York.
It should be switched around each year, but many schools dont want to host... it does take a lot of work.
Hamilton is a gret school. It sounds like a jealous Wesleyan runner.

I know that it sounds a bit absurd, but the guy did run a 4:03 mile, a 4:10 mile, and a 2:27 1000 in a 24 hour period. I doubt he would do it as well, but he seems to have more range (800, mile, Steeple, 5k, Cross) then Macharia Yuot.
What do you all think?
I think that Kosgei should quit wasting his time at Hamilton and transfer to a DI program. A sophomore threatening to win 2-3 indoor titles off 50 mpw? Give me a break.
To the guy who said:

Maybe he ought to go to a DI program. There would be a deeper field. But, Kosgei has won the SteepleChase at Nationals thus far. He didn't win in Cross Country. He is a tremendous runner, no doubt, but until he cleans up like Yuot did with the Steeple, 5k, 10k, & Cross - he has a ways to go.
More importantly, have you considered that perhaps Peter Kosgei is such a good runner not despite the fact that he only runs 50-60 miles a week, but rather, because he limits himself to 50-60 miles a week.
Maybe he is competes so well because he shows restraint in his training.
There are plenty of world class athletes who hovered around 60 miles a week instead of being stubbornly set on cracking the triple digit barrier every week.
Just my thoughts...
i mean sure his mileage is low. but i know regulary in cross he would crank out 5 x 1 mile in the low 4:40s. His coach would always tell him he needed to slow down, but Kosgei insisted he was feeling fine.

So you're saying Hamilton's training doesn't work and that moving to a school with more people and a "D1" instead of a "D3" on its athletics brochures will automatically make Peter run faster. As a former Hamilton Track Captain I tend to disagree. I think Peter's success more than shows that he is NOT wasting his time. This past weekend's results more than support that. Even if he were to race against D1 competition he would still place in the top 50 in the D1 rankings with his 4:03. More mileage isn't always the answer. Never can trust those Wesleyan kids.
Point taken, but you have to agree he'd benefit from practicing with guys running times more similar to his rather than guys running 4:35-4:45 miles and 2:00 800's.
Notable results from the UW-Whitewater last chance meet (yet to be concluded):
55 Dash
Ewing UWW 6.44
Unknown (my apologies) Carrol College 6.46
800
Kehoe UWW 1:52.9 (only beaten by Kleimanhagen (sp?))
A number of guys at 1:54.xx including:
Kilburg and Stangel UW Platteville
Mile (times are estimates, but they were top two)
Butzler UWW 4:15.xx for the win. Did not look good. Apparently he hurt his knee earlier this week.
Phillipi UW River Falls 4:16.xx
Anything from MIAC? Specifically erichson in the 5k

when exactly is the last time hamilton beat wesleyan at nescacs? we graduated 5 out of our top 7 and 7 of our top 10 and still beat you, despite the fact you have kosgei. yeah your program is really stellar, you're the laughingstock of the nescac.
And all of you clowns would be the laughing stocks of the WIAC. Ya C***S!!!!!!!!!
