We may not go down in history, but will go down on your girlfriends.
One of my favorite road race T-shirts:
"Just Did It"
I have to say Im with the people who say put your team name and the words "Cross Country" on the shirt. Just don't take it too far, like Tim Catalano (or whatever the F his name is) at Eaglecrest HS in Denver, who had his team put the words "No Slogans" on the back of their shirts.
This would be more for track, but:
front: 1:41.11
back: We're working on it.
Some suggestions:
"Belts? No, we tie our dicks around our waists so we don't trip."
"Clean, Dirty? Pfft. I'm the one with the can of whoop-ass."
"While you're still running, I'll be pissing in your Gatorade."
"If you can read this, I'm still warming up."
"Some run to discover courage. I run because my coach is a mean SOB."
"Warning: Prone to explosive diarrhea. Stay back 100 feet."

I know something like this won't go over with kids from a trash talking generation unless it is sold to them by the coach that the name is enough to increase pride in the school/team and evoke fear in others.
Agreed. Honestly, I cringe when I see some of the slogans that people put on t-shirts. They're just corny. Ideally, a t-shirt should bare the name of the school and the words "cross country" or "track & field". That alone should be the message to send out to other teams. Not some slogan.
The original poster didn't ask for "inspiring" or "motivating." There's nothing wrong with creativity and humor for it's own sake.
We work our butts off all week so we can kick yours' on the weekend.

"fcuk belgrave - running for nothing and your friends are free" went down well one year
Love this one, can't say I much like Belgrave either! We had one for indoors one season where we went and got our 4x8 team photo put on the front and then national champs on the back. This was before the meet, good thing we walked the walk and won.
I agree that 99.9% of slogans on XC/Track shirts just make the wearer and team look stupid. The one exception I've ever seen:
Deerfield HS in Massachussets XC Shirts: "Screw Glory. We're Crazy."
Other than that, just go with your school name and maybe a cool simple design or picture. What can be cool is if your school's name starts with a C, D, Q, U, or any other wide open letter, make an Oregon Track Club logo out of it by putting that tree int he middle.
not that i'm a huge fan of slogans, but a rival conference school of ours used to have some of the best t-shirts.
Wooster XC - "Better than a kick in the jimmy."
"If you will it dude, it is no dream." - Walter Sopchek
"Motherf*** you, the other teams, their moms, and that damn dog that's off a leash that chases us during warmup."
okay, I have been laughing for 5 minutes to this one......great wakeup reading!
