Not bad for a D III team who averages nearly 1500 on the SAT's.

Yeah, but a lot of people score 2000 (out of 2400) or even higher.
I'm perfectly willing to believe that the people on sports teams at Williams average something under 1500, however.
You are correct. The officially score was 1487 for the women out of 1600. The men were lower at 1434. You should follow the sports info page and you would know these things.

I was on the team from 84-87 and apprentice you just proved you are not an alum. There were no spring breaks for you to curse like a sailor in the 80's. There are many other stupid comments but we do not need to go there.
You may be interested in knowing that you will soon be identified. Another alum who now works for a certain agency in Washington DC says he can find out who sends what on this site or any other. That is the nice thing about computers, you can trace everything.
People who make false accusations will end up in court. Starting rumors will not be taken lightly in court when you tarnish someones reputation. There are a lot of people who take this very seriously. Be prepared to pay the consquences.
All I have to say about this is: bull.
Interesting that you know this for a "fact" because I was at the meet and do actually know for a FACT that Carrie Plitt and Olga Kondratjeva were both tested.
You should think carefully about the kinds of accusations you're willing to make, especially when they are dead wrong.

Yeah public coputers! Get away with murder!
The 1500 figure refers to the traditional two SATs with maximum of 1600 points. I gather you didn't score quite that high!

a) One of the risks of using subtle humor is that it may be too subtle for part of the audience.
b) You're right: I didn't score that high. I scored *much* higher.

Not that I had thought it was particularly subtle, but whatever...
"He has brought more success to that team than any coach ever."
He MAY have helped to bring more championships and titles.
But championships and titles are a shallow measure of the concept of "success".
He will never be the spiritual foundation that a Plansky, Farley, Farwell, Lamb, Sheehy, Paulsen, etc were/are to the college and community.
Ralph White is a journeyman. He's a hired gun - a one night stand. If he intended to stay and lay down roots and a lasting legacy, he wouldn't have gotten involved in all the things that are forcing the college to let him go.
Ralph White fired Ralph White. Morty Shapiro, et al just signed the papers.
At the NESCAC meet, I heard that there were concerns about the legitimacy of White's recruiting tactics. DIII has pretty strict standards and the NESCAC's are even stricter. Supposedly, he puts a lot of pressure on the admissions and financial aid offices. This could explain how he can put together a larger team with more top-caliber athletes than comparable institutions. Williams' depth also can be explained by White's alleged pressuring of bugetary committees etc, as they can afford to support a large team if he is getting more money for his program than is standard at peer institutions.
The NESCAC may have some recruiting standards but Div 3 has no recruiting standards. How do you think teams like Lincoln,New jersey, Wheaton(ma),CCNY McMurray etc are able to get some of their talent.
Div 3 has no clearing house to go through. Much of the talent you see in D3 are kids that did not qualify academically for D1 or D2, especially in the sprints and jumps.
Coach White will be remembered as the best track coach in Williams history, whether they wrongfully get rid of him now or if they finally see the error of their ways and he stays on until he retires. He is a legend in his time and a legend for all time.
Nothing that is said here or that happens can diminish his greatness. The trophies will always be in the cases, the banners will always be on the walls.
When Coach White does leave, no matter how it happens, it will be a sad day for every athlete who ever had the honor of being on his team.
I have never met a coach or a teacher who cared more than him.
I really doubt there is such a person.
Has a coach ever been fired after winning NCAAs?
And what about Pete Farwell? -- he must have coached at least 3 times as long as Ralph White... who got to walk in to the powerhouse Farwell had already built.
I don't know about track, but does anyone remember when Wisconsin won the soccer NCAAs?

Division III schools, by and large, have MUCH higher academic standards than those of Division I and II. This is the reason why the clearinghouse doesn't apply, for the most part it isn't necessary.
Have you ever looked at the NCAA Clearinghouse requirements? It's hard to imagine not being able to meet those standards, and those that barely do would have zero chance of admission to the vast majority of Division III institutions.
D3 is just like any other division, some schools are very good academically and others are lousy. The lousy academic schools have several athletes who are not D1 or D2 eligible that is why they are in D3. No place else to go.
There are many low level division 3 academic institutions. To say that there aren't, just shows that you are poorly informed.

Yep. Lincoln, NJCU are both total jokes, and everyone knows it.
